I let this go and you bring it back up? Growing up being called a jap and having gotten into fights over my nationality has made me a bit sensitive to the term.

What are you doing about the drivetrain set up? How are you getting the power down? Is it a modified 8's set-up or what? I see the axels but am not fimilar enough to tell what the are.

I guess my question really is how are you going about connecting the drive train to axel?

It's a Trans Axle. I don't really understand? Engine to Trans, Trans to Axle, Axle to Wheel, Wheel to ground.

You can see in the pic when it is out of the car that everything is there. Does that answer your question?

Mounted the RX-8 Pedal covers to the VW Pedals

It's just sitting in there right now but you get the idea

Made the intake. Had the K&N filter and the duct laying around so I finally put them to good use. At least with this set up I wont have to cut a big hole in the Engine bonnet just for a filter even though it will probably pick up some heat from the engine. I would rather have it that way so the car will overall look better.

Rerouted the Oil breathers so I could tie it in with the new intake

Wow, not sure how I missed this before.

Awesome seeing someone doing this. Much more difficult than the Renesis NB Miata swap I am building the plans for. Warming to see stuff like the ECU and wiring come together smoothly. (at least, you make it look smooth).

I will probably hit you up more directly once my swap gets underway for some tips in dealing with the electronics side of stuff.

Looks good man, I would ditch the factory oil coolers and get a good single unit with a fan since it won't get direct air flow.

Hey how much does your single cooler in front of your radiator affect your coolant temps? I plan on running the oil coolers up front but the only real place would be in front of the Radiator.

I LOVE THIS IDEA! I also remember being able to chirp 2nd in my 1970 Beetle. I miss that thing! I, too, can't wait to see this.

Oh, and YES on the wheels. It will tell anybody who knows 8's that it's a VW-8.

Just a thought... How about mounting the oil coolers in a Yakima-Style roof rack, with a mesh screen the front to mask them? Or just a custom mount made to look LIKE a ski/surf rack? Just an idea... I know there are VW oil coolers made to mount to the roof. I thought about one because I was in Yucca Valley, CA where temps are 130ish, but mine had a factory sunroof.
