This thread needs a bump...this is my new baby

Crappy iPhone 3G pic, but as it happens the only time the sun showed it's face today

It was overcast all day and looking like rain, thankfully it never showed, got a wash, clay, wax, and interior detail done.

Hey henrythe8, you said 2009 40th anniversary edition. You meant 2008. They only had the 40th Anniversary edition in 2008, even though there are a few still left at dealers being sold now.

Well, yes, made in 2008 and bought new in April of 2009.
As for the drop, I 'll stay away from it, the RX8 is my daily drive and I transport my two kids everyday, so I'll keep some comfort. (and some budget for my 2005 MX-5 Splash Green Roadster... )

The standard setup with the Bilsteins are already good enough for me.
BTW, here's a couple of pics taken on may 23rd at the SPA track in Belgium.

Feel the pressure...

Le Raidillon de l'Eau Rouge

And one of my first laps :
(yes, I'n no pilot whatsoever, and it shows ! )

Mazda Metropolitan Grey Mica touch-up paint, available on order from any Mazda dealer. Mazda's Paint code is 36C. I got a bottle when I bought my 40th Anniversary edition in May 2008.

PICO such animosity against a touch-up paint ?? Where is that coming from? Its Mazda's own paint. Use what paint supplier you prefer, but don't knock the source.

pico is just saying you will get better results with the dr colour chip. The mazda touch up paint is only the paint .. with the clear coat (if its the pen type) but dr colour chip comes with other things that help make the chip even less noticeable. He wasnt saying the mazda paint is no good lol.

Relax GUY.............

I've used the Mazda ****, and it's just that... **** The color may match well, but doesn't blend well with the surrounding like it should

Color Chip uses the SAME Mazda paint code (36C) when making their paint blend. Do your research before you go busting my nuts

Didnt know it was so easy to bust your nuts guy. You can dish it out but cant take it it seems.

I have lived and breathe and driven over a million miles in seven rotaries since 1973 (street and track) and have done more research and know more about these cars and their care than you ever will, in spite of all your posts here. It is just infantile to make such a big deal about touch-up paint. If you know how to apply it and apply the clear coat properly it will blend perfectly and look professional. It just takes some car finishing know-how. I have done touch-up and painted wholes cars over the decades and that is where you get your experience. Long before Color Chip ever existed, cars got properly prepared and painted correctly.

^ Your post is filled with a bunch of very bold statements, you don't know a thing about me.

I know for a fact that the few simple steps involved with the CC process avoids all the time and other headaches that you incorporated in your post. Who's to say whats right, wrong, up, down, left, or right. This is the point that I was getting across to mrl84.

The fact that you have owned 7 rotaries over the years really nothing to do with anything. Quite frankly, who cares they all were just cars--- with no true bearing on life. If it makes you feel more like a man to question my knowledge then that's fine, but like I said you know really nothing about me and my background. If you feel the need to take this discussion further you are more then welcomed to PM me. Where this topic is going borderline juvenile and doesn't belong in the media area of this forum.

mrl84- its your decision which technique you go with. Nevertheless, I hope you get the results that your looking for in the end.

Good day all...........
