Pico, great pics brotha. Love the color. If you have some time take some pics with your doors open. That interior is drool worthy. If you lived closer to me I'd love to shoot your car.

I organize many meets and events for NEPOC. Sadly not many RX-8 owners around here are interested. Have a look at our photo galleries. We could setup a meet for sure. http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showt...hp?t=123730188

I'll take a look
As for setting up something in the future, a spring meet would be great.
I'll keep this idea in the back of my mind.

Some all out show cars don't even start!! Do you really think they lose points because its a auto. You know maybe your not into shows and u track ur 8. An if u do then you should know the driver does more to lower the lap time then the tranny. I had a turbo AUTO 8 that i think would bet and or give ur 6spd a good run. I now have a EVO X MR AUTO tranny and im more then sure would lap ur 6spd all day long. Better let go push ur BS over to all the nissan GTR guys the love there Auto trannys cars. Maybe im out of line to go of like this but everyone that joins any car sites are car lover's. Not auto vs stick haters.

Well for starters Pico clearly stated that getting from A to B was the only concern when getting his car, so I am not sure it's clear that he is a "car lover" so to speak.

Actually, pretty much all high end sports cars offer either a full manual or an F1 electeo hydralic paddle shifter. (not an auto tranny with buttons on the wheel). Come to think of it, I actually can't think of any high end sports cars that ONLY offer a genuine Automatic.

I don't track my 8 and never will, so I don't care if your turbo'd cars can lap me, because that's just about having a lot more horsepower. The manual transmission is a must have and I feel sorry that you bought a car for tracking but forgot that you needed a manual transmission, and went with the mini van style auto.

You can tell that Pico is a "car lover", look at the quality of parts he uses and the way he maintains his car... and is he not on this forum contributing to this society?

Some people have little choice when it comes to getting an auto, so think about that before your start auto-bashing

Think about this

You get hurt (paralyzed) -- automatic lose of license due to the type of injury
In the hospital for 5 months ICU and rehad
Thoughts running through your mind about what the future will bring -accessibility and how to get around period... Among other things
Come across a nice car (the 8) that doesn't have a b pillar to stop form getting the wheelchair in and out and the modern marvel rotary engine-- fall in love instantly. Even thou its an Auto. Its only thing that I can drive, not my first choice but I still love my 8

As for being a car lover--- There are people here that have seen my car on a weekly basis and will tell you that I love this car and keep it well maintained (cleaning, maintenance, upgrades, and mods). SO TO SPEAK.......

I believe Ti was referring to electro hydrolic dual clutch cars. It is the future of sportscars

You have got no idea....

Drop this nonsense and walk away

Ok all I am saying is that your car sucks cuz it's an auto. The fact that you had to get the auto doesn't matter to me at all. The fact remains that the car sucks. I am sure if I met you in person I would not have the ***** or the heart to tell you that your car sucks after all you have gone thru, and honestly I think it's cool that you can still at least drive a nice handling good looking car, and i honestly hope your health gets as good as it realistically can. Still, if I am JUST LOOKING AT YOUR CAR, and not YOU, then i still stand by my opinion that the car sucks, and we all know by now why I think that is.

It's sorta like this: "auto is not as nice but I cannot get the stick due to health reasons" And all I really care about is the "auto is not as nice" part. I do not care about how you relate to your car, only the fact that the car has an auto transmission and therefore it sucks and is a disappointment in terms of a sports car. Is it completely heartless? yes. Is it a valid point? yes.

^ OK.....
You could say it sucks to my face. I probably just laugh at you. I don't have a problem with that.
There's a lot of things in this world that suck-- but I think I can speak for the majority of the population here by say the 8 in any form doesn't suck.

The only thing that is a disappointment is the direction this thread went.

Now post a pic or two. I want to see what your pulling

yeah I should post some pics but unfortunately I have never photographed my car. Part of the problem is that I don't have a camera, and I have very few friends, so I have never had a good chance to get my car photo'd. It is just a stock 40th mt with no spoiler, no appearance package, no front lip, no rotary accents either. I did however get the rx8 all weather floor mats and the mazdaspeed shift ****!! So when you get right down to it, our 40th's are probably as different as they can be without actually modding them.

Just keeping it stock for now. I have interior LED lights, LED tail lights. rotary accents, and a b pillar sticker. I don't have the extra money to buy anything fancy for my car at the moment

^ That's cool nothing wrong with that.
I also did a LED conversion and love the way it came out. Simple things like lighting really makes the car look great without over doing it.
If the car wasn't the 40AE I think I would do more to the appearance. Since it is the AE I kept my mods very modest. I want to keep it as authentic as possible by doing small things.
Intake, Exhaust, Brake pads and rotors, Mid Pipe, Plug wires, Tints, Cobb (waiting to install) Etc. Etc.

I wish i lived out that way -- winters coming and I hate getting my 8 full of salt.

Yeah i don't really plan on putting any kind of body kits on it, If i had the money to splurge I would definitely get some brake pads and rotors for sure, a new exhaust, intake, tint.

Haha sure there's no snow where i live. But i'm literally 6-7 blocks away from the beach, and fog rolls in almost every night. Which dirties the car 10x faster and salt.

renesisgenesis you made some good points in your post. My car is a auto style car (twin clutch)6spd i would lap u not because of power but thats a whole new talk show. When its all said and done pico pics came out sick! And have you seen his mod list mmmmmmmmm? I think hes a car lover. U don't have to mod or have the $$$$ to mod ur car to be a car lover. He likes and loves his car and thats it. But This could go on for days so im not going to post anything else on this. Is gonna be like trying to stop war in the middle east.

Do I have to institute the immediate ban for people who crap all over autos again? What is with the rudeness about automatics? If you don't like them, keep your mouth (fingers??) shut and stay out of the threads about them.
