You might be disappointed because .....wait for it...... I bought a part from Summit racing. I hate to leave Home Depot racing because the parts are just soooo much cheaper.

Eric, stop baiting him. Calling him by a banned member's name is uncalled for.

Thanks, its actually polycarbonate, which starts to melt around 200 iirc.. so unless theres an engine fire its not going to deform.

V2 with 0 brackets is underway.

this tray costed about $60 in materials, but invaluable learning experience to make it better the second time around.

Probably because I was red faced over it. It was indeed dumb to post ,, but hey it is a learning curve. I really don't care if the pic is up here. I will post another of the engine bay as soon as I can get the sticky duct tape off. So to answer your question that's why

It's not really that clean, but someone asked me to take a pic of it for something else and I thought what the hell... I should just post it.

Do you log intake temps, Im not a fan of the look but the idea is sound if its substantial. I have my LIM coated black and my temps are only 7 degrees above ambient. (which to me sounds pretty good)

Im torn, IDK if I want to make a tray, or use an opened out OE box to retain the factory look.

Looks clean, my whole thing is I hate the white portion of the ECU and Fuse box.

Also anyone nowadays still make CF covers. I see them in pics but can't ever find any for sale.

Yeah, this just makes me realize how badly I need to get my *** on this.

Do you have a thread on your battery relocation?

Unfortunately I dont . I have a brief section on it here: Normalexception.net - 2009 - 2011 RX8 Battery Relocation

But that needs to be updated as I now have just the hot wire running to the engine bay through a hole in the passenger side firewall, and the ground is just going to a bolt that mounts the rear seat (short wire).

No ventilation, or battery box. Tisk Tisk! I see you added some extra weight with the deadening material too.

Still looks good
