Dom: You almost had me? You never had me - you never had your car... Granny shiftin' not double clutchin' like you should. You're lucky that hundred shot of NOS didn't blow the welds on the intake! You almost had me?
Extra: You Tell him Dominic. Get out of here
Dom: Now, me and the mad scientist got to rip apart the block... and replace the piston rings you fried.
[closes bonnet of car]
Dom: Ask any racer. Any real racer. It don't matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning's winning.
[Crowd cheers in agreement]

MM and Flashwing said they could feel the concussion in the house. It was a big one. But the intake only blew into two pieces.
I'll go back in the morning to Ray's and swap intakes.
Wow, seriously that had me laughing for quite a while. I was sitting inside Charles' house when we hear Easy floor it and spin the tires up the street following by BANG BANG! It sounded like he ran into either a 747 or a massive garbage bin!

MM looked over and even said "I bet he blew up another manifold again."

So I head for the door and sure enough there's Easy halfway up the block with his hood open and the car is dead. I couldn't believe it.

First thing he said to me was "there wasn't as much of a flame this time!"

So let me get this straight. You've blown many UIM's and precummed on your nos sprays several time, yet your motor is still running strong? shiiiiiit, I'm about to buy me a BHR nos set up.

How much are these UIMs? what is the cost whenever something like this happens?

Also, it doesn't harm the engine when something like this happens? Is it because of the awesome rotary power that you can take nos backfire? I know if it was pistons, you would have to replace the whole block.

to all the uninformed who are terrified of nitrous - this only happens when you spray at below ~4,000rpms as there isn't sufficient vacuum to suck in the n2o/fuel mix and they ignite!
The car was doing fine from a stopped launch. The tires were spinning and then they hooked up.At that point the rpms dropped severely. And Boom.
To much load and not enough rpms/vacuum.

To much! I don't have a clue, Best way to find out is dump some gas into a tube and light it. Oh yeah, have both ends capped. Now if you could measure the internal PSI you would have your answer.I would say it's MUCH greater than 100 psi.

Thanks I have one 4 port and a few 6 ports around. That was a 6 port UIM. I'm going to put the 4 port UIM back on.

Leave those two off and you don't have to mess with them in the future

It doesn't care about RPM. Only throttle position. RPM range is up to the operator.

If your going to be doing this the end result needs to be EPIC! That makes it all worth while.

Used UIM's can be found for around $100- $150. The vacuum box/oil fill can sustain damage as well. So that might need to be replaced also if this should happen. As for mine I don't know. It was dark and I really didn't feel like like looking around. I'll find out in a little bit here.

A 10 PSI pop off valve with a large enough flow might do it....

The tough part is the speed of pressure increase - it can be near instantaneous in the grander scheme of things.

I wonder if you can rig the TB spacer to lose the o-ring seal completely or add a burst disk like we use for scuba jugs.....

The burst disk is brilliant!!!! Just need to get one with a small enough copper ring to go at a really low pressure when compared to SCUBA....

If it worked - it could be directly threaded into the BHR spacer.....

I've seen an aluminum manifold.

I think it was ovffered with an FI kit.

If you go w/ an alum manifold... what's next?

blow the seals right out of the rotors?

not yet man....my car is running like junk. I don't know if it has to do with my turbo going out or not....vacuum is down to 14-15 and it runs waaaay too lean in boost. Never heard any detonation tho....I haven't gone in boost since I installed the plate really. Waiting on MM for my calibrations. I'm gonna have to take off my turbo this week though to send it out to get rebuilt and upgraded.

I do not tell a person something will work and not have them work as described.
As for you posting in LasVegas Mazda about the coils being garbage,, bring it here Gilbert. Don't hide in your home town thread.

Raed this. http://forums.lvmazdas.com/index.php...7.msg14010#new

I use to consider you a friend Gilbert. Now,,,,,
