A friend of mine that has worked for local track organizations a lot told me a story one time of an RX7 that had a bumper catch on fire during an HPDE event. He kept radioing people to tell them the car was on fire!
"It's an RX7, they shoot flames all the time!"
Finally someone caught on that the car was really on fire and not just playing a flamethrower.

The bumper put it out along with the taillights, trunk, wing and possibly the fender. who knew Mazda cars were fire retardant. True track cars indeed.
