I have same problem with new EVO and the new GTR for that matter. They are all HUGE!

I sometimes wish that the 8 was a little wider and shorter. Just another 2-3 inches less in height and more in width would make it look not so tall and narrow in some angles.

And as much as I love the 8, if it's 370Z vs. 8, I'd pick the Z in a heartbeat. Every time.

I'd have to agree. While there are things I don't like about both cars, I'd take the Z every time. However, when I bought my 8 in '04 it was between that and the 350...and to this day I would still argue to no end that the 8 is the better car than the 350Z but with the improvements made for the 370 it has become the better of the 2. I'm still praying that Mazda can answer the 370.

I thought you sold your turbo kit? I still think a properly driven 370 would give a standard Greddy Turboed 8 a run for it's money.

I'm talking in terms of his third gear pull on the highway, on a track the Z would stomp it no problem.

RX8 + standard Greddy kit = unreliable mess on the track. I said an 8 with SC would just be pretty equal to a 370Z and that is about right, a SC is more reliable and suitable for the track IMO. But still your adding 7-10k just to compete.

Alot of people would disagree with you the reliability of a turbo'd 8 but I agree with you, SC IMO is more reliable and suitable for the track.

And as far as a SC would be equal to a 370Z thats what I was saying as well, they would be equal, and it would be fun to see them duke it out on the track.

as far as the RX8+ standard Greddy turbo kit, I agree with you on that. Very unreliable, you'd be lucky to get 20K miles IF THAT out of it before a new engine or a rebuild of the turbo...

I'm sitting on 20kmiles on my Greddy turbo right now , some of that track time . Don't jinx me .
And FWIW - how long your engine lasts is not determined by SC or turbo . It's ALL to do with how much useable power you make , how well tuned you are and how good your supporting systems are .

Well I have had a few turbo cars, some factory, some not, and the only way to do it right is to spend money from the beginning and proper prior planning. After thoughts will cost you big. And with the Renny the margin of error is pretty thin. Some turbo guys run on the track and most have blown engines, it's part of turbocharging. Tuning is key and good tuners are hard to find. It's not the Turbos fault

But a 370Z with the GTM SC would be sick. Stage 1 is 550HP, no renny will do that. stage 3, forget it.

Oh, and this is my favorite 370Z

Yeah too bad they don't make 3 rotors anymore.

Why do you guys think power is everything?

The RX8 is lighter and will still handle better than the Z. Give them the same size wheels and tires and then see who wins...

I'll take the RX8 thank you.

It's not everything but when you are getting passed like you are standing still on the straight away it is. It may not matter as much on the Autox course I agree but on a real track it's all about power to weight.

Like I said, it's no fun tailing an M Coupe (you know who you are ) and then watching him pull away when you have your foot to the floor on a straight.

The only time power to weight matters is on a Drag strip...

You need to do some more track days.

that 370 looks like it has fat fish lips. and those wheels....the stock ones look better.

We have a 350Z nismo and 370z in our BS class. Nice looking cars. One RX8 driver regularly beats the two. It depends on the driver.
