"Mazda expects to recall RX-8s"
you drop off your car, and ask for one. if they say no, they don't.
i dunno. it would be a nice change, but my dealer is joint with toyota, and they have a rental program on the premisis. always get a tundra or tacoma. no complaints.

The voltmeter #'s will vary with the barometric pressure sensor (altitude) and the output from the vacuum sensor....the baro # we can tell what is normal...but until someone figures out the output for the vac sensor...we won't know what it reads at what vac.
So someone with one.....please tell us
And then tell us the Vac #'s that require new engines.......

Good thing I cant stand driving slow, and every light is a race light for me, at least to the speed limit.
Pisses my wife off, "Do you have to drive that fast", "Why yes honey, I do".
Now I let her know about this, and got to through in "See I told you it was good for the car".

"I'm sorry officer, I have to drive my car to 145 mph at least once per day in order for the engine to not dry up and die."
LOL, interesting enough.
The only time i have been pulled over for speeding was when I had the speed control locked at 35, and the officer tried telling me I was going 45.
I called him a liar, and stuck to my guns on that.
His story went from "I paced you", to me telling him "No, I saw you the entire time, and you werent close enough to pace me, especially when you got caught at the yellow light", then his story change to, "Well I am trained to spot speeders".
No ticket. Bad cop!

However, the is a load point switch at 4100 RPM where the CAT preservation routine kicks in and the target A/F goes to 12.5: from 14.7:1 after 10 or 15 seconds.

I love fake *** cops like that. They give good ones bad names, then again punkass teenagers and twenty-sumthings dont make the good cops jobs any better.
Maybe Mazda can give us "Get out of a Speeding Ticket Free" card each month for our cars hahaha.. "Sorry officer that 125mph you tagged me doing is for the benifit of my engine, here's my card Mazda will take care of it."

ey guys i have a quick question. i know what this new flash does, but wat im wondering is will it have a difference or affect the ecu for wen i redline my car later on after i get the racing beat flash?? And also, if lets say i get the flash from racing beat (which i will wen it comes out for the 05's) and i take my car to the dealership, will they reflash my ecu everytime i take it to them??

so yeah, i tried the 'light cruising' test procedure on the way home today. No stumbling idle whatsoever, so i guess my engine's ok for now...
but damn, the car feels completely neutered when you shift before 3000rpm for all gears and keep it under 45mph, how can people actually drive like that, i hope most of you don't.

Anyone get it checked out today???
So.. if I had an appt to get this checked out... say,
tomorrow
,
for this recall... would it be jumping the gun? I dont think my service rep even considered the fact that this recall just came out, and that it might not be supported by the mechanics or... whatever. I dunno, should i cancel? The rep was more than willing to fit my schedule, which seemed wierd actually...

Wow, just found out about this recall thing today. Interesting stuff. I dont go on the forums for awhile and then bam, a 75 page thread on the this. So with this expected recall, when can we expect owners to start being notified? I'm pretty worried about this but at the same time, i felt no reduction of performance or anything with my 8. No unusual "acting up" from my 8. I guess i'll find out soon enough.

Providing you are the original owner or ALL the normal ownership transfers forms in your service book have been updated and posted, you will be notified on the procedure, I would have the full confidence that MNAO, or should I say MAZDA, who will stand by you not matter how long this recall takes..one may expect that the supply of recon engine could be scarce...all depending on demand.
But you will get what is entitled to you if required, even if your warranty expires in the mean time....hope this helps...I base my comments from experience as a dealer warranty claims officer here in Australia, Mazda (Japans) warranty philosophy/protocols are the same world wide.
