I'm wondering whether it would be possible to swap the steering wheel of the current model in the new one...
Also, couldn't it be that the oil pressure gauge (if actually present) is integrated in digital form in the navigator screen? The photo is not of the rx-8 screen, but if they did this for another of their new cars...

Not only is the cutline between the fender and the front bumper completely different on the two cars, the headlight shape is also very different. It's not only longer vertically and wraps around the flare (for the reflector), but is also more bulbous and rounded in shape, not the sharp point of the current headlight. If you wanna swap bumpers, you'll have to do headlights and fenders too. Same with the tails, that will require the rear bumper also. May as well just trade in your car.

I won't post a pic, since my photochop skillz are teh suck. But I am thinking a MS8 in BB with the RS wheels would require no further appearance mods. Maybe just a nice 350sih whp turbo and then niravna.

See my post above re: bean counters!
In all seriousness, it looks like there's room on the steering wheel for cruise control buttons, but it may not be a popular option in markets outside of the US/Canada.
I guess we'll have to wait and see if it appears on the production cars.

I own a CX-7 AND I HATE THE STEERING WHEEL!!!! The buttons feel like a 1980's boom-box.
When I sit in my 8 I can go from stressed to calm in .05 seconds by just touching the steering wheel and volume buttons. Not with the CX-7 wheel. It feels like a bus!
ARRRGH!

Who uses cruise control? My FD had it and I only used it once to see if it works. I have never used it in my 2007 RX-8, and I maybe used it once in my 2004 Auto RX-8.
They should add a Turbo-Boost button.

agreed. fuel economy and lack of power are big killers for average-car-buyer joe. my point is that taking things that people like about the car and changing them, (potentially without solving the two main issues), will not likely bring fame and fortune the the rx name
