"I wanna go fast!"
I doubt they are branding it the Rx7.
Either way... i hope it dont look like the one in that picture. Fugly. They should mix the Rx7 styling with the 8. Lower, sleeker, 2 seater, lighter, with some triangles and curves of the 8. That thing in that pic looks to bulky... and imo, resembles the Audi TT.

There are a number of 'behind the scenes' changes in the Series II, but not so many imo that Mazda should feel compelled to stay with it more than a few years. Given today's rapid prototyping CAD/CAM systems they can bring on a new model pretty quickly ... if they have a sound powerplant, which in the 16X' case as we [think we] know is suspect at this time.
So.... who knows, but they do need to meet my personal 2012 deadline.

they didn't really do that much to the series II, did they? they tweaked the body panels in front and back, but didn't they take the tranny or gears or something from the miata? the r3 trim is obviously a big change, but again, mostly cosmetic which means not a whole lot of r&d money there.

the ecu being the main reason why the AP for the 8 wont work on the +09's (atleast from what I have read)
