It just gonna be a skin refresh. I happen to know for a fact a few well know Grand-Am race teams that already have the new skins on order and will be arriving sometime next year.

things are ment to not line up on mules aka camoflague. we will see how they do. the rest of mazdas cars and their concepts looks pretty good so we shouldnt have much to worry about. not to sure if i like the duel round rear taillights. at least this does mean more spy shots are to come following the new year.

I hate that nasty huge and thick Mazda logo in the front, that you can see under the covers. Mazda has done this with its other cars and it looks horrible.
It also appears it will be a bitch to remove it. I liked the more subtle one that is present on the RX-8's now or none at all like you can do with the Mazdaspeed front.
Also the "new" RX-8 looks a lot like the old RX-8. So that means keeping the "old" RX-8 will not make you look bad, especially when you have Mazdaspeed parts and a supercharger or turbocharger.
As for the "new" RX-8, just got damn FI the engine already. FI and you can get 300HP out of the present engine with no problems. FI that 16x and you should get 350HP PLUS and definitely be able to compete with the turbo V6 engines.
Also "wide" scares me, like in more weight. So definitely FI the engine and give us 350HP or MORE.

Then why would they do a facelift for 2009 if it is going to be a redesign for 2010?
So what is '09 model's upgrade exactly? no exterior upgrade only interior electronic? and 2010 with with exterior upgrade? Maybe this mule is what rumor mill had, the supposely 13B engine/transmission update that they had been running in Vegas, someone had pics of the engine bay... I'll have to find the thread... ... I don't know... just throwing out some possibilities.
Found the thread of supposely Vegas mule engine bay

ya looks the same. I was at the dealership and they told me there coming out with a aniversery addition. new rims and different color nuttin big. but those rims look like the same ones on the car they showed me at the dealer so.
I was also told they dont wanna come out with a mazdaspeed rx8 cause it would drop mustang sales. Idont no if thats true but thats what i heard lol
