Trolls like these add a smile to my day. If you make a claim be prepared to provide the burden of proof.
Here's a YOY comparison for the recently completed month of...
July 08 vs. July 07 % Chg
350Z 795 1,556 -48.9 %
RX-8 355 654 -45.7%
S2000 201 418 -55.6%

Looks like the Z is doing worse than the RX-8. S2k thrown in the mix to clear some anecdotal conjectures. Your posts still fail.

^ Sale for S2k has been lagging for some time now. There are lots of discount for those who wants an S2000. Its trend reminds me alot of the NSX.
But we ought not to look at total volume after all, if you make more you sell more. If you make less, you sell less. It needs to be compared to total production vs. sold.

well i thought the new 8, looked quite well blastin round that track.
i've heard you need to see the new 8 in the flesh to really appreciate it.
it would be interesting to hear what Tiff thought of the drive as compared to
when he test drove the 1st generation rx8?
if mazda had increased the horse power of the new 8, would there be a big torque increase? they did improve the gearing to provide more torque???

If you watch the video, Tiff said the 8 was more balanced than the butch Z. I also wonder if the shorter gearing resulted in more shifting that may hurt times. But who knows. we can analyse this and that, the result is what it is.

And credibility? I've had my RX-8 since 2004 when I was still in high school. I've spent every day since then driving it, loving it, and revving the hell out of it occasionally. I have more than enough credibility and experience to say whatever I want about a vehicle I've spent nearly my entire driving experience with.

lol wow you guys get too personal. its all opinion. but noone on the planet, owners, journalists, the lot deny that the mazda has serious power problems for its class. that is why they are redesigning the engine. i expect the next generation will be exactly in the same bracket as the Z power wise. if they dont, i have to say they lose alot of customers because right now sports cars are on the rise from where they were. and if your top end sports car keeps getting beat by the guys it is priced to compete with, you lose.

the simple fact that you resorted to calling people names and getting all emo about a comment someone made asking you to back up what you had to say just goes to show that you truly are at most 4 years out of high school. Next time you begin to start with the name calling, yell for mommy and have her bring you your binky instead. Because as i said before, your initial comments had some great insite! However, your reaction to someone's question was at best: childish. Now run along, i think i hear the ice cream truck!

I suppose you believe that GM must therefore be doing better than BMW because of the total sale volume huh?
Another smile today.

nice try GM's position has much to do with a plethora of other factors outside of sales too, BMW would kill to have the sales volume of GM.
Your argument is weak, its like saying I sold 1 apple last year and I sold 2 apples this year and saw a 100% increase in sales, its better than some one else selling 1000 apples last year and sold 999 this year and saw a -0.1%. If you call relying completely on delta % as "Sales Analysis" and not realize that conducting sales analysis has to look at a number of different fields and factors.
To make a silly conclusion based on a % change alone and call it sales analysis.. i'm not sure you even went to school...
There is a reason why they list the volume sold as well as the % change, because you have to look at both to get the picture. Mazda would love to swap these numbers with Nissan, you are just attempting a bad spin job by only looking at the % change

Wow a lot of cry babies in here, you don't like the horse power go trade it in and buy something else, just shut the **** up. You have the car (I say that cause the ones who are all crying about it don't pay for it.) You should have done your research on all of that first so it's your own fault if your not satisfied period.

Wow you've been dwiving dat since you were in high skool! dat's just wonderful! lets see... 2004 and it's 2008 now. if you got the car as a senior, you'd be at most 21... maaaaybe 22. Well golly gee willickers your just about the most worldly individual i know i'd put my bet on at the races every time.

i agree with bose, if people are gonna start whinnin about the power etc being down on the 8, then go get something else, remember the size of this engine, and its design.
mazda have worked hard on this engine over the years, to give us something 'different' to the norm of piston engined sports cars.
i for one really enjoy driving my 8, sure there are more torquey cars out there, but its the being 'different' i enjoy.
for all the size of this engine i think it does pretty well and it being sooooo smooth when cruising on the motorway.
what about these rx8 turbo kits you can buy would they make much of an increase?
i parked beside a nissan 350z last night, and when i came out the cars were the best of friends, like we all should be
