Lots of problems?????? If someone is going to share an opinion it is then open for discussion. My two cents is that her comments were way off mark. It was like she didn't even drive the car. The clutch comment is a dead give away that she doesn't know what many other clutches feel like. You saying that the RX8 has Lots of problems is fine if you then say a Cobalt has a bazillion problems.

Bottom line this lady is sharing a very uneducated opinion and posing like she actually has a good grasp on comparables, not that she didn't like it

Look, I'm a pretty good driver with lots of experience, even 140k on the Autobahn...and the clutch does cause problems...mine dives all too often; and I never, never, NEVER, have that problem with my 90 Corrado...ever!

As much as I love this car, the RX8 has its problems...LOTS of them.

And BTW, you lose credibility when you berate people for telling the truth, or at least their own truth...
I think you should come on...I do not yet own an 8 but will when the new model arrives. This chick is NO motor writer whatsoever, most if not all her comments were totally irrelevant to the product.
Yeah, drive with high heels in ANY manual car and you have trouble.
The kitchen table in a sports car?.

"As much as I love this car, the RX8 has its problems...LOTS of them".

Not true also..
The biggest complaint in this forum about the RX-8 are 1. Gas Mileage. 2. Squeaky brakes.3. Lack of HP.

Well EVERY rotary made has had the same complaints (1 and 3), by some owners.

Perhaps you should list all of the "problems".

Apart from that there is the engine issue, IMO some replacements have been totally unnecessary, some have. But definitely out of proportion to the rest of the world. More to do with slow engine use in traffic jams (poor lubrication).
New model has this addressed.

South African Member here has the 2003/4 at now 180,000KMS and still going strong.

and the 8 can't off road...and it can't carry 8 people or tow a trailer with a full load.

Why would you complain about things the 8 isnt designed to do (ie carrying a kitchen table in the back seat)

The 8 has to be the easiest manual to drive of any car I've ever driven. That writer is a maximus idiocis.

I have to agree with everyone saying the clutch is easy to use.

I've never had a single problem with the clutch in the rx8, and I have to say I like it better than most of the other manual-transmission cars I've driven. And it's very easy to push down. I guess if she was wearing high-heels it might be difficult, but then again she should've changed shoes to drive the car.

I think the clutch is super easy. I've driven in heels a few times and I think it's actually easier than other shoes, although I usually drive with no shoes. I don't use the dead pedal though and I think that's where she said her heel got stuck? I could see where that could happen, depending on the type of heels - like stilletos could get stuck very easily.

"But this keeps things bright enough at night that you might forget to turn on your headlights."
This is NONSENSE, my wife forgot the headlights because she simply forgets!
the only thing my wife complains is the blind spots, and me the FC.

I work in a profession where we have to contact journalists. They pretty much ignore most emails.

Thumbs down

I gotta say, when I test drove the 8 @ the dealership, my idiot salesman stalled like 3 times just trying to pull it up to me! lol

funny thing is, when both me and my mom test drove it, neither of us stalled..
plus my mom hadn't driven stick in like 15 years+ up until that test run

for what its worth, my mom is asian as well

Wow what a moron.

I've taught two of my female friends to drive a manual in my RX8... effing weak.

My 2007 Corolla was a pain in the *** to drive because of a laggy DBW system. I think the RX8 is the easiest stick I've ever owned (and I've owned a few... '92 Lumina Z34, '05 Cavalier, '07 Corolla S, and the first car I ever drove -- my dad's old 93 Ford Escort). This bitch is weak and fails epically.

not sure how many 4 door cars (not wagons btw) can fit a kitchen table. but i would say about 1% can, which is alot if you ask me.

btw i laughed when she gave the keys to somone else suppose to be expert on manuals stalling. that comment was classic.
