Yellowish pasty goo from oil tank

Hello, I am actually new to this site. Being a new owner of the 2004 GT for 6 month now, I usually get my oil done by Mr.Lube. When I check the level of the oil today, yellowish goo was all over the oil checker (that long metal thing). Anyone what's happening to my engine? Did they put in the wrong oil or something?

Any input would be nice. Thanks

Mine does it, I've never bothered to get it fixed. Although it might have been accidentaly fixed when my engine got replaced? Last time I checked the dipstick it looked fine.

It is totally harmless. They have a fix because it caused concern among the owners but it is totally harmless. It's caused by condensation in the dipstick pipe mixing with a bit of kicked up oil. It will generally "melt off" after a long drive (1-2 hrs at highway speed) unless it is really cold out. The issue is caused by the dipstick pipe being a lot cooler than the rest of the engine. Issue disappears when the ambient temperature is higher than 50 degrees consistently.

FYI, the technical term for it is "Spooge on your dipstick".

My 8 never did that even on the first engine and I'm on my second engine. So just food for thought.

I had a metal oil filler cap and the inside of it was covered in condensation crud. I guess the plastic cover goes back on for the winter.

^ what? you can't take the over and the under. fence sitter!

I'm going with the under - if the over/under is 18. Mostly cuz I figure there will be 17.5 new threads.
