It's certainly true that NYC people believe they're the center of the universe. =P

Despite everything, I think I feel it's pretty clear to everyone that NYC is a pretty bad place for anyone that enjoys driving.

Don't confuse size and importance with best.

I grew up in New York City. (Actually, Queens, which a number of Mayors and most Manhattanites don't really consider to be part of The City.) It's very provincial. Most people who live out their lives there do so because they don't know anything else. When I moved away it took me a couple of years to realize that there was something else, and that the something else could be better. Some elses worse, but a lot of elses better.

Lotta cool stuff in NYC, but there are also things like the BQE.

Actually the BQE is not so bad anymore.
The FDR, Deegan, HRP and pretty much any highway that doesn't lead to Long Island sucks.

Is that a joke? It gets worse and worse after each "repair". It's been on repair for how many years now? It's been on repair as far as I've been alive actually. It just deteriorates more and more every year and the lane closures for the so called repairs doesn't help either.

Now that I've diverted the thread to the BQE...let's consider this.

Nycgps's accident was on Delancy Street, after crossing the Willamsburg Bridge. Since he lives in Queens, I presume he took the BQE.

The man took an RX-8 on the BQE!!! Why have we been so sympathetic to him? He should be villified as a sociopathic 8-hater. I would NEVER subject Zoomy to such a thing.

Retraction and apologies if the BQE was not involved.

So can I ask a question? Why do people WANT to live in New York? It's painful to hear about this stuff. I'd go ******* crazy after the first week of living there. Is it some sort masochistic thing? You've been beaten over the head so long that when it stops, you go "hey. what the hell? I need a good beating or I won't feel right."

What is the draw? So much additional crap and "overhead" you have to deal with in life...
Im really ok with the hit ...

I just cant take that garbage juice all over my windshield and doors ... for a second I really wanna kill all garbage truck drivers ... LOL !

As for geico. As long as I tell them I have Volks they will still retain my policy and even cover them if they are damaged in an accident? Will they can a policy if you have an exhaust installed?
For any not originally installed parts AKA aftermarket parts, I have to "tell them" in advance, pay the extra (not much money), Have it photo inspection, then they will cover it. They dont cover some items for example, a Turbo Kit. also if you install a Turbo kit, they will not cover the MBI(Mechanical Breakdown Insurance) if they find out.

this is a good opportunity for me to fix all the digs and paint chips on the car ... Then I will have a photo inspection

oh btw yes thats my car. damn, I dont even remember where was that ... its somewhere in midtown but hmm ...

Even though both cars with damage exceeded her limits, the companies agreed to a split of her policy limits based on the cost of further litigation and of the money GEICO recovered they made sure I got my deductible back. Whole process took about 8 months.
Well, it seems that Geico issued another payment, how much I dont know yet, going to call in the next hour or so to ask. they better pay me everything in full or Im going to be pissed.

Well, he seems to be a nice guy, the 2006 pathfinder is kinda tall, and it was at night, hmm, whatever. His insurance will go up for the next 3 years so Im sure that will teach him a lesson

Yeah ... especially after Bloomberg came into the office and kept pushing that retarded Bike Lane policy and not fixing the roads ...

*sigh*

Yes sir, LIE > BQE > Williamsburg > Delancy > got pwned

BQE is not the only way out but ... its all fate ... I was about to go to my GF's house to switch to my FIT if I DID that I would never met the Pathfinder ...

Update :

Damn it ! I got another payment today thru mail. its my deductible.

I was like hmm, this isn't right. cuz now Im just getting what they quote me earlier ---- STOCK BUMPER PRICE !

I understand that if Im claiming thru my own policy, this is what Im getting. but NOW im claiming it thru HIS collision damage policy. I should get back FULL amount including the cost of my MS bumper. plus whatever damage behind the bumper (Im afraid my VFAD tube might be damage, but dunno yet)

Damn Gekko ... Need to call them

Ok, tonight, gonna go out to eat dinner with my cousin and a buddy. driving to the city. got off williamsburg bridge, delancy ST (NYC ppl knows where it is), Red light, so yea I stop, everybody stopped.

All of sudden, this Nissan Pathfinder in front of me decided that he should back up (reverse), I was maybe 3-4 feet away from him. when I saw his reverse signal on I was like "wtf???". so I honk. but he continued ! I HONK HONK HONK HONK !!!!!! and yeah whats next?

I watch him killed my whole bumper, its not even 1 year old. Literately, Wow !

He said he back up because this truck or whatever was trying to cut him on the right side and he did NOT see me behind him !!!!!

His Pathfinder's tow hook (whatever its called) hit my bumper, thats why his car seems ok while my bumper has a hole on it ... another new bumper?

hmm ... I dont know man. He was nice and stuff, so I didnt get **** that much. Cops came 10 minutes later (that was fast), filed the report(cops tried to ask us to settle this off the books, Im like no, this thing will cost over 1K for sure, then they like ok and do the report), off to my original destination (food) , parked the car ... eat ...

Had a nice meal, my gf and my cousin's gf came later, chat for maybe 2 hours .. fun ...

When I thought everything was over ...

Wow .... fuxking Garbage truck probably came, and spill some ******* garbage on my car !!!!!

I mean WOW ! What kind of Luck do I have !?

DUDE SERIOUSLY, WHOEVER WANNA GOES VEGAS MAN, IM UP FOR IT !!!! w00t w00t !
I feel your pain man...

at my apt some *** in the parking space next to me slammed his door into my car so hard it set off my alarm, left a HUGE crease in my passenger rear door and embedded his red paint into it... he just left, no note, no "sorry", nothing! I found it fucked up the next day... I have a friend in San Diego that got me hooked up on getting it fixed... I picked my car up... and didn't even make it out of the parking lot before some ******* tweaker rear ended me!!!

then a week later another ******* backed into my front bumper while my car was parked at work and didn't leave a note or anything! the car gods are against me...

I hate people...
