It might not be worth it. I'm not sure of the fines/punishment by you but I know Cali is no joke when it comes to emissions.
Maybe an alternative?

No CEL (hopefully), no resonator, and supposedly great flow.
I'd still wait for CARB approval and further dyno testing though.

We start emissions testing next month, so for me it is not an option. Some backpressure in a n/a rotary is a good thing. Only when you go FI should you consider deleting the cat all together. I would go with a high flow cat but not the delete, it is not worth the risk or the minimal gains when weighed against the possible fines.

The removal of the CAT and getting busted during an inspection depends....
My neighbor has his cat removed but his pipes are also designed so that he can unbolt the through pipe and bolt the cat back in. When the emissions test comes up he bolts the cat in and gets it inspected. Then he comes home and removes the cat and puts the through pipe back on. A lot of work... but he seems to think it is worth it.
Also... if you have "independant" inspectors like we do down here... You can almost ALWAYS find someone that will "pass" the vehicle regardless.

yeah but here in CA, we have emmisions testing on the side of the road, they pretend like ther doing highway work, while everyone is getting in one lane they setup this radar sort of device that reads your emmisions from the exhaust gas.
