HEY , this was just a question! Chill out. Every time anyone says anything
that even seems to put this car in the spotlight , you scream troll. I say you are all FOS babies.
30% of the rx-8's in inventory in some states are unsold 04 models
Ford amd GM sales are way down. Facts speak for themselves.

Because of late-year launches for many of the models, however, Ford's car business was disappointing in 2004, falling 14 percent from the previous year.

The RX-8 was never meant to sell more cars than the Mazda3 or Mazda6. The engines are hand built, there is a limit to how many can be pumped out. Given that there were more RX-8's sold than they targetted, I'd say it's reasonable to expect a 2006 model. There simply isn't any reason for Mazda to drop the platform after two years when they spent so many years in development. I'd say this even if the car fell short of the expected sales ... it would have to majorly fail for them to drop it so soon.

What does GM have to do with anything? All car sales are way down- or are you not paying attention? And you ARE acting like a troll- you keep posting this when you KNOW it's going to **** people off and cause a flamewar-- ie. deliberately trolling. You can read the TOS as well as anyone else on this board. If you can't figure out a way to say something in a manner that isn't going to cause an ugly uproar, then don't say it. And that is a warning.

Mazda and many other auto makers where down in Dec., but Mazda is up for the year.
Mazda Motor Corp. said Tuesday that U.S. sales sank 12.9 percent in December as car sales fell sharply and truck sales were off slightly.
The Japanese automaker sold 20,866 vehicles during the month, down from 23,056 a year ago. Car sales dropped 17.1 percent to 14,464 units while truck sales decreased 1.4 percent to 6,402 vehicles. Sales of the Mazda6, Mazda's best-selling car, declined 23.1 percent to 7,006 cars. The company also lost sales from its discontinued Protege model.
For the year, sales rose 1.6 percent to 263,882 vehicles, as higher car sales offset a 20.2 percent decline in truck sales.

from rotarynews.com:
128 day supply is a good number if production was running. however with the fire halting production until at least march the US could literally run out of RX-8s to sell by the time they get production rolling again. so they will be able to again sell every one they make plus for 2005 just liek they did for 2004 model year. no worries about 2006:D
As of December 1st 2004, there was a 181-day supply of Miata’s, a 93-day supply of MPV’s, and 128-day supply of Rx-8’s in the United States. Based on those numbers, there could be very few, if any, MPVs available in late March.
