Why do you want to run staggered wheels of any size, let alone 20"? Staggered tires sizes will just jack up your handling and with 20" wheels you might as well strap a boat anchor to your wheel hubs.

Looks looks looks, car is too fast for me as is.

I have 225/40/18s on my MX-3, came with 15 inch wheels.

Found this on ebay:

OFFSET +50mm
Picture below is a 1.5" dropped Mazda RX-8 with identical high offset
staggered wheels and BFgoodrich G-Force KDW2 size 245-30-20 (front)
+ 265-30-20 (rear).

We recommend the use of:

27.0" Diameter: 245-35-20 (front) matched with 255-35-20 (rear)
26.5" Diameter: 225-35-20 (front) matched with 275-30-20 (rear)
25.5" Diameter: 225-30-20 (front) matched with 285-25-20 (rear)
Or any other tire size combination that respect the vehicle's stock overall
wheel diameter (+/- 4%)

Everyone has there own style. At least he is driving an 8. And it does not look nearly as bad as a lot I have seen. It will be very heavy though. Slow the steering so much. Hurt exceleration. It is his car though.

mclaren_75211 says>>> go for what u want is your car.
I say>>> Ya its mine. Paid all cash last Monday.
$19,750, 06 Shinka MT copper red.

WoodsOfGreenRx8 says>>>Can't anyone just help him with what he wants?

Its ok. They are helping me even if its negative.
This way I get all kinds of ideas, both pro and con.
Thanks all for responding.

thecow135 said>>>>wtf? i clicked this link and it went to some bs about performance something and started ******* with my firefox

I got that same stuff first time I clicked on link.
Was a hassle to close it. Had to re click on link.

I just got the car last Wednesday so am in no rush to Mod it.
Am just doing research for later.

But I do think I want 20s, even if it makes MY 8 a bit slower. It's not even my daily driver. I don't race. Speed is not important to me. I want looks. If
it makes it look ugly then I won't do it. Will wait till present tires need replacing. Also want to go to
the Houston 8 club meeting so I can see other 8s in person and not just in pics.

mclaren_75211 , your car does not look bad to me. It looks sweet. I see you are in Dallas. I am in Houston but will have a trip to Dallas soon ( first Sat computer swap meet) so would like to see your car in person if you don't mind.

TIA all.

alot of people hear talk out there ***.
a rx8 running on 18 or 19's does not mean it will run quicker. Handling is another story that I can not prove.
I have had my car since 04 and have 1320 tracked it at Rotorfest, rolled on with 8's with 18's, 19's.always with success except for a run with blue turbo 8.

sad thing is some guys think they know whats best for YOUR car. I built my car to my taste and driving needs. and I hope you do the same, I can help you out. just pm me since I rather not post pics or specs.
thanks

I'll post pix of what 20's look like on a RX-8 after dinner. Also it will be 20X9 or 20X10. Tire will prob be a 30 for that show look. Go for it if you have the cash. After all no dif running 20+ pound whells when it comes to aftermarket wheels.

Same with my neighbors. So I ask for their opinion then I do what I was going to do. ( What I had already decided to do ) Makes them think I care what they think. Makes them think they are important.

Kel sent you a PM.

TIA

If you don't care what we think, why ask and waste everyone's time? You're sure as hell not doing as any favors. If you want to waste money to make your car slower and uglier, go ahead.

You say>>>If you want to waste money to make your car slower and uglier, go ahead.

I AM A BIG BOY. IT'S MY MONIES. I WILL DO IT IF I SO DESIRE. I DON'T NEED YOUR BLESSINGS TO DO IT.
BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER. I LIKE AND DON'T CARE WHAT OTHERS THINK. BESIDES THE CAR IS TOO FAST FOR ME. DON'T MIND IF IT IS A BIT SLOWER
as long as my 6 year old neighbor does not pass me on his skates, I am ok with the 8s speed.

NOTE TOPIC IS NOT WHAT DO PPL THINK OF STAGGERED 20s but I should start one for ppl like you.

What makes you respond if you are not answering the topic?
Wait, wait I get it. You think your opinion matters!

Now, why are you getting defensive. No response to this post is required from you.

What a coincidence, because your opinion doesn't matter in regards to where and what I post on this website. And for a guy who doesn't care what others think, you sure are aggravated about me posting my opinion which apparently doesn't matter.

I am also perfectly capable of making my own topics, but I don't, because the boards are already clogged enough with dumb threads like this. So, I will now use this one to post the counterpoint:

WHO ISN'T RUNNING STAGGERED 20'S BECAUSE THEY LOOK GAY!?

Yeah, me ******' too.

Oh no, I read and comprehended. I just ignored. Apparently you missed the part where I said I don't where and when you think I should post. You actually expect me to do what you tell me?

Besides, even if I couldn't comprehend your writing, I don't think anyone would be too surprised, what with your astute command of the English language.
