When I am being serviced

anyone know what is exactly done at each service interval and how much is costs? I am assuming you need to call Mazda when you reach say 5K or do they send a friendly reminder? Do you need to have the service intervals done for warranty fulfillment? I have not owned many new cars and this is one of the last questions I still have unanswered on my quest for the ultimate 8 database in my brain.

if you have to pay for service.. the dealerships usually send out a friendly reminder at 3.5 k!

You said: "When I am being serviced"

I say: Are you sure this is the right board to address these types of issues?

On topic: Isn't there a break down in the owners manual or related ancillary documentation that describes what each service entails? Don't have one so I don't really know. It usually doesn't contain pricing info but I know I've always had that kind of info included in documentation provided with my owners materials.

The owner's manual (right there in the glovebox with the owner's warranty booklet that you should be sure the service dept annotates after each interval is accomplished) gives the complete service schedule for either 5K or 7.5K intervals depending on your driving habits.

hmmm not so bad...there is an article in Car and Driver on the Mazda 6 and they said the service visits were among the cheapest they experienced. That is why I want to know what to expect so I and anyone that reads this does not get ripped.
