Last night, I received a new clockspring, a laptop, and the cable for my new VersaTuner software. I felt like a kid at Christmas. I've already started doing a little tuning and intend to install the clockspring before I leave for work today.

I've never heard of that, you should post a thread in the s2 tuning forum.

Backed out of my driveway at 4:38 am, drove my 20 mile commute to work rocking Robert Palmer's hits, parked it, got my lunch cooler out of the back seat, walked about 100 yards, clocked in at 4:56.

There's been a little talk about it in the main thread there. Just read the last few pages. If you have any specific questions about what's in it, I can probably answer those.

It was a beautiful day in north Texas yesterday, so I changed my oil first thing in the morning, then hit the farm roads between McKinney and Sherman for a morning on the twisties. Much of the asphalt is new, and the countryside is gorgeous out that way.

Too cold to cruise.

It is - 30 with the wind factor , today in Toronto Canada. My car is nice and warm in the garage. There is no way it will see the light of day before the temperature gets better.

i wrapped the front and rear console lids in alcantara, the rear was a PITA to remove. (side note its probably best to remove it when its not below 0, the plastic is a bit brittle. i'm lucky that it came of as well as it did.)

for those looking to remove the rear lid off i would like to put this out there (the other instructions i found were lacking). first the lid doesn't come off in the same manner as the front lid. the front lid can be removed from the console, then that comes apart by removing some screws. the rear one the top "leather" portion comes of leaving the base and hinge behind. (remove pass-through panel) first, there are 4 J-hooks on each side that hook toward the center. second pick a side and pull out horizontally (toward the door) then up. i found it easier to start in one corner and work your way toward the trunk. once those for are free, a quick wiggle and it should come free.

Wash & wax

Then got 4 new dunlop supersport tires after this pic was taken.

Almost 1 year into ownership and I am continually amazed how awesome this car is.

Nice in red, wow. Mine is for sale and actually in my heated garage while it is so cold here, in Montreal. So today, I looked at her, walked around and said to myself, "I wish to win the lotery so I can keep it " and soon post a pic of myself with it on the forum with an add saying no more for sale.

Drove in the snow for the first time.
Stoopid weatherman had no snow in the forecast, so I drove it to work.
Got a pretty good snow right before
I knocked off.
AS tires are not really suited for snow, did a good bit of fishtailing.

Installed the syncro saver I bought from Team today. Love the solid feel with my AFE short-shifter and the R-Magic shift ****.

I tuned the throttle to be a little more progressive. It has the same acceleration at wide open throttle, but you have to push the pedal a little farther to get to the fun zone.

The benefits are that it's a little easier to drive smoothly and I'll probably get better fuel economy. The drawbacks are that it feels a little slower since I have to push the pedal farther to achieve the same effect and it doesn't seem like it has as much desire to go fast (anthropomorphizing a bit), but hopefully that'll fade as I get used to it.

I just swapped back the stock intake in place of the awful Simona intake that was on the car when I got it. Now my fuel trim doesn't peg out when I go down a hill.

New set of tires!

Finally put on a new set of tires. Was looking locally for M+S all season tires with no luck. Took a leap of faith and bought these on Amazon: Milestar MS932 Sport All Season Radial Tire - 225/45R18 95V (I have the 18" wheels). Found a local guy who mounted them and balanced them. He said they were very round and needed hardly any weights to balance out. Not the sexiest of treads, but I can cross-rotate them, and saved over $300 versus a performance set of rubber.

I booked a track day for us next Saturday. Crossing my fingers (but not holding my breath) that my BHR midpipe will be here before then so I can install it while I have the car in the air to swap wheels.

finished my Interior LEDs. i just throw out low bids on ebay, and if i win, great, if not, oh well. i've got blue in the dome and map lights, and white in the courtesy door lights. debating on going blue with them too, but i like the output of the white to light the ground when i get out of the car.
