Adjusted tire pressures. Not a big event in itself, but after letting it sit overnight I wondered where things stood after the NitroFill a couple of days ago. Three were at 31.5 psi, right front at 35 psi. No wonder it didn't feel quite like it should have after an alignment. Adjusted all to my favorite pressure, using good old air.

I did notice that the garish valve caps they put on have a plastic lining, so I don't have to worry about the metal-on-metal issue with the TPMS sensors.

Ken, sorry to go OT for a minute, but do you know if the frame rails on the 8 are "boxed" and open, this allowing water/debris to get trapped inside of them?

I'm asking b/c I'm about to have a professional prep & POR-15 done on the rails of my 9 year old RX8, and when I examined the frame rails, they do not appear to be an "open" or boxed type.

(I'm keeping this car for at least 5 more years if not longer, and from other vehicle forums, there is a belief that deep rust happens from inside out on vehicle frame rails, so that treating the exterior online inadequate)

TIA

Sorry, Roto, I don't know. I've actually never been under my 8 or even jacked it up. Kind of embarrassing -most interesting car I've ever owned, yet the first that I have not done most of the work on.

That would be a good question to ask in the "Dumb question" thread if you're not getting it answered in your main POR-15 thread.

After 197,300 original miles on the factory fuel pump. It finally gave up, not the fuel pump itself but the assembly. Just like the common problem with an aging OEM radiator. The top nipple broke. Here's the video of what lead me to change the fuel pump.

Onto the pictures:

And testing the pump:

Undertray and a few other odds and ends came off today before work.

Engine will be out by Sat morning.

I have very little time to actually work on it. Luckily I have off Sat and Sun for once.

Ordered, received, and used my Dr. ColorChip system. I'm very meticulous on keeping my paint as clean as possible and the rock chips on the front were starting to really bug me. Overall, the product is awesome and works as advertised... It obviously can't beat a new paint job, but for the cost, I thought it was worth it.

Clear OEM side makers arrived and going to install them today. Also ordered Burnout Type II eyelids to go with the rest of the kit from Japanparts and will get them painted and installed hopefully before SevenStock this year.

Man, so this is what you would do, otherwise, when you are not distracted by the social media!?

LOL, I've had them in mind for at least a couple of month now. But yes, with less people to contact the more money I have my pocket to keep for parts.

Okay I lied, the side-markers actually arrived today instead of yesterday and they're finally on. I didn't like the idea of swapping out the amber ones for clear back then, but the look has grown on me and I really like how it flows with the rest of the appearance mods.

Please tell me the "E" doesn't stand for Ethanol. Imagine, paying oil-based fuel prices for the vegetables you didn't eat last trip to the restaurant. What next? High-octane V-8 vegetable cocktail?

Let's all start eating our vegetables rather than letting the gas companies sell them to us at the pumps!

Yeah, most pump gas sold in the US contains up to 10% ethanol. In this case, E0 means that it contains no ethanol at all.
