After using the Stance GR+ w/ Swift springs for a few years, this is leaps and bounds better.

Sunday
Engine bay was grody as hell. So I decided to do something about that.

Now to see if I can't track down where all that **** is coming from. I am pretty sure a good portion of it was from previous owners being careless filling oil.

Wife even helped some.

Tuesday
Then I had to work 2 10 hour days. Came home to an alternator in a UPS box this afternoon. Chugged a ripit and got to work.

So my Brother-in-law and I installed the alternator on Mom's Corolla. No pics sorry. Wanted to bust this **** out Asap so when the wife and mom got home they be surprised.

Then I took a flap wheel, and several wirewheels to the battery/airbox support. Gonna hit it with rust paint tomorrow.

Damn thing looked like a battery exploded on it, or was at least leaking a good bit.

Make sure once you clean the rust you use a good paint, believe it or not something like Krylon would work perfectly.

Stuff I have is Krylon rust tough with rust inhibitors. I called about 10 places in town looking for POR15 today and no one knew what the hell I was talking about except body shops and they don't keep it in rattle cans.

So I just got some in a can from work. (I run commercial accounts and do some deliveries @ Advance Auto).

The Krylon will work well. I've used it many times on many different vehicles. I'll actually be painting my entire engine bay this winter with it.

It's a good solid product at a decent price depending on what you plan on using it for.

Any ideas of what to check for oil leaks? Not familar with renesis as much as the old s4/s5 13b engines.

It seems concentraded in the front right (pass side) corner of the engine. Either that or the pullys are sling **** that way. But the pulleys and belt themselves appear to be dry.

That was my only other thought. Back of crank pulley seems to be clean. Belts are also not getting oily.

I installed some blinds in the garage windows so the car isn't baking in there.

Cleaned my intake and throttle body, but I over torqued one of the bolts to the throttle body and it snapped. Luckily I was able to remove it easily. So I had to find a similar one at the local auto parts store..

I noticed my ridiculously expensive Eneos oil dripping from the "back-up light switch" on my transmission. I special ordered the part from my local Mazda dealer and expecting it to arrive on Saturday.

I replaced my "back-up lamp switch" this weekend. All those wire clips... what a PITA. A 27mm combination wrench works perfectly for removing and tightening the switch.

Picked it up after leaving it at the dealer for alignment, balancing, and swapping out a bent wheel. Potholes are still hungry.

Alignment included NitroFill. Now I'm worried about caring about nitrogen rather than air...I have enough OC fetishes as it is.

I parked mine in the garage at our new house last night. New SSV will go in Monday morning on my day off. If this doesn't fix my issue i'll start pulling the motor the same day.

Either way she is down for winter. Time to boost her

I finally pulled off all of the remaining mirror tint that was on it when I bought it. So much better!

Had a lot of fun installing my Racing Beat flywheel today. Big thanks to gregs for letting me borrow the special tools needed to make the installation a breeze; and to my co-worker for guiding me thru the process. Installation only took close to 4 hours, it's very nice having access to a lift and having all the right tools.
