Very bad, I found excessive amounts of some type of metal flakes in the "sump?" where the sock sits. But not a single speck of dirt in the tank. About 2 weeks prior to it going out I stupidly drove the car down to below E (I normally fill up at the 1/4 mark). Guess everyone was right, all it takes is one time.

Took a whole bottle of TBcleaner but I got it clean (sorry no pics of it clean, didn't want to dirty my new phone).

Also found a thin layer of varnish? covering the assembly, cleaned all that off as well then reassembled.

Changing the fuel pump is actually extremely easy in this car as long as you got that ring tool, 45mins with goofing off.

Got the attention of drivers around town when I went to the tire shop. Going back to stock while I wait for new wheels on the 57Fs.

Stock wheels back on, TPMS light finally off!

Am I seeing this correctly or are my gauges messing with me? Currently on stock wheels (225/40R18) on the same full tank of gas, started premix also on reman' engine.

Got invited to a charity event/car show, raced a lotus, burned thrue lots of gas playing with an old triumph, a baracuda, 69 camarro, multiple austin healeys, a ferrari, an aston martin an old indy car so old, i couldnt even tell you what it was other than beutifullly awesome, and about 50 other cars i cant even begin to list... all in the middle of a public park with more twisties than a slinky on LSD. all for the perpose of making kids with cancer and other diseases smile, jury is still out on who smiled more, the big kids with the cars, or our passnegers, the little kids with the cancer.

Well yesterday.....

PDX'ed at BlackHawk Farms Raceway (Illinois) with kamikaz8.

Quite a learning experience being on the track while it was raining and learning to drive the rain line on the track.

we had a total of 4 RX-8's:

Red S1
Yellow S1 (SCCA Track official's vehicle)
kamikaz8's Sk2 (Black/Purple)
and my 2010 S2 (Sunlight Silver)

We had a great time.

Fixed the heater (thanks to the DIY here!) And then took her on a 250mi round trip to have lunch with my son at U of Oregon.

It's so hard not to speed in this car. I'm going 70mph, and she just keeps begging me to go faster.

It works great, just a simple negative and positive install, don't have to worry about this throwing any lights on your dash unless you have all your tail lights LED's without resistors , tomorrow I'm getting the Viper 5901 installed with remote start, auto window, tilt sensor, audio sensor and backup battery. It's gonna be one hell of a day. I also installed the LED fog light bulbs but they look like crap I don't know what to do about the plastic black covers on the inside of the halgon covers

Car tripped a P2259, P0113, and P0103; I removed the Air Intake box and the accordion numerous times trying to fix the EPS problem, but this is actually the first time I've ever cleaned the MAF/IAT sensors. Did the same with the Air Solenoid Valve and the male connector but CEL still comes up. I may have to look more into it this weekend since my smog and registration is due next month
