Really nice work, Eric!

My 18 year old daughter's boyfriend works at a fabrication shop that has one of the huge (like 40' long) ovens... granted that was 39' more feet than we needed but he hooked me up with an AEM intake color matched powder coat of my final intake tube.

Really? I thought i was going to get flamed on it.

as soon as i have $100 or so i might just make a better version with less brackets. Could even do a group buy if people are interested, not sure how it would hold up in a racing environment though.

That PC'd tube is sexy btw.

The open intake area with the two braces running thru it was a sore spot for me. I got the BHR shroud when it was available. You have options with your composite... you could paint it black and have a tray that is just as good for a fraction of the cost.

yeah, i hate that part too.. but its hardly visible with the tube over it.

The reasoning behind it was if i bought pieces that were bigger than what i needed(the proper way) the panels jump from $14 each to like $38 each. The project costed me ~$50 bucks. doing it the right way would be around 100 or so. Before i spent that kind of cash, i wanted to see if it could be done, and it would have been cheaper if i messed up. I was also worried about it melting.

I like the clear, its very unique. And with nicer looking brackets i think it has the potential to look very nice. Just need to make some modifications. This was just the prototype.

Thanks for the kind words

Sad thing is i was in a area i dont know very well just trying to flow with traffic. I guess i got singled out from the group by the officer and was given the ticket. It really sucks because i was only trying to be nice and drive a friend to work, and now i got this ticket. Its my first ticket ever and i have no idea what i should do, the #1 thing is i cannot afford my insurance going up...

You can sometimes get out if it if you can get the cop to agree you were going with the flow of traffic. Its actually safer than putzing around slowing everyone else down.

Plead not guilty and go to court... no need for a lawyer. You'll get a couple minutes with the judge and if he's halfway decent he'll reduce the charges.

There's also always a chance the cop won't show up. If he does try to talk with him prior to going in front of the judge. Often times they'll work out deals before you're called forward.

If the judge reduces the charges to a non moving violation or dismisses them outright there will be no points assessed.

Yup... for example a couple months back I got nailed for rolling thru a stop sign on a back road.

After talking to the cop for a couple minutes he agreed to reduce it to "failure to heed a warning sign" or some crap.... a lesser charge with no points.

I had no problem paying the fine, the cop still got his quota, and the municipality still got their $$$.
