4000? Holy ****. I honestly didn't think there was an RX8 in existence that still had that low of mileage.
Me too! All this time I thought my car had the lowest mileage... until I found out that there's another Spirit R in Bangladesh with only... wait for it......... 1800 miles! the car is literally brand new!
Went to a car meet this past Friday night and not only was I the only rotary guy there, but i also blew a fuse causing me to be the only guy with a car that couldn't start. Oh well, next time I'll be ready to represent the high octane life of a proud rotary owner...
Replaced the backup lights with LEDs, much brighter, cleaned the acorn shells and dust off the cabin filters, and put some tire shine on the summer rims and tires put on a few days ago ... a few things every night after the kids pass out as part of my 'me time' lol
I took the 2010 R3 out of winter storage on Sunday. Checked all the fluids, put in the battery and it started right up. Gave it a good wash then went for a "get rid of the cobwebs" drive. Literally there were small spiders here and there. Never know what you will find when coming out of storage. Yesterday I finally replaced the original Potenzas with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires. Absolutely love the ride difference. Car handled great in the rain and they are much quieter. Next weekend is the oil change and new BHR ignition coils! I will also take out the air filters and track down any potential spider communities.

I've had great experience with ride comfort and noise levels with Michelin that I've developed a bit of brand loyalty for them, though reviews on pirelli are similarly good but I have no experience with them. I have Michelin x-ice xi3 for winter and was quite happy, and looking to possibly get the pilot super sports when these firestone Indy 500 wear out.
i have been taking my girls out for a 30-60 minute ride in the rain the last few days just to get out; might install the fog light replacements and drl leds later if I get the free time to take stuff off and put it back on :p hopefully it is clear this weekend while it is above 40° so I can detail the paint and black pieces to get her looking like she just come off the showroom floor
This thing spent the weekend in the tank at a machine shop and came out worse than when I dropped it off. I've spent the last two days letting it soak in a tub of gasoline and cleaning it when I get off work and putting it back to soak over night, through the day. I can't seem to get this any cleaner, is there something other than paint to improve the looks of this? I did get the runners clean though.

Took the car out for a drive, feels nice to "not to hear anything but the engine" while driving. Now to get a battery, and brakes, just got the steel braided brake and a clutch lines.
Drove it to work today, finally a nice day. I need to the plastic coolant tank in the next week or so. I just picked up some Focal ISS 200 component speakers for the doors (8"midbass and tweets) so I am slowing building my sound. Next will be a 5ch amp and Focal ISC690's for the rear deck (leaving the sub to come after).
Drove my RX to its biennial smog inspection and past like a charm.
Got it registered and ready for fun.
Also drove by the local Mazda Dealer. Got in the mail a re call information package directing me to get an appointmen in regard to a seal in the fuel tank
Will drop my car in on Tuesday. They say it will take a full day.

Received the fuel injectors and Mt 90 oil for trans. Went by the body shop during lunch...
18 days until DGRR will it be there? Engine should be here by Wed or Thurs...
I finally got around to finishing the brakes. New rotors, pads, and ricer caliper paint all around
I also started straightening the oil cooler fins, got the passenger side about 80% done. Decided it would be easier to fix them when I take the bumper off to put in oil cooler screens.
I'm Candice. I'm a girl obvi. I have had imports and sports cars before but I'm so mad andcsad bc my Rx 8 I got in Oct has never been OK. Its litersly one thing after another. Its an 04. I have yet to be able to wind it out. Or even experience the drive really bc of fear of making something worse I live in arkansas so I don't take it to the dealer or the foreign car shop bc no warranty and they charge by the hour. I'm sooo dissapointed and so exhaustoed w it and I've never gotten to drive it yet. Its a joke. I wanted one my whole life. And now all I do I diagnose buy parts start again. Or at this point drive it off a Cliff!!! From the million things that could be wrong w p steering to checking oil constantly and filing colsnt con's antly and but the ght new set tires one spark plug bc app only the one was bad according to diagnostic. The torque sensor took till now to from gure out and I am now dealing w unreal room GH idle and my speakers just went away completely after my battery was tightened and I hear pips like ricks are hitting the windshield now and I just did brake pads too and somehow lost the front trim to road construction errrrr it was falling in ff anyway I had fixed it once already. My back is killing me w this seat. The sunroof works when it wants and is stuttery at that I'm so mad I could cry. This car was my dream. I worked w my dad all my life buidking cars like kit car porshas w wing doors ect ect ect and I was so excited about the rotary engine which brings me to gas mileage. Nigtmare. I'm soooo sick over it I'm actually pulled over now checking fuses ect for no audio problem and I want to give up. I have never yet got to DRIVE THIS CAR. Just once a little bit like 5 minutes in a round about w a charger going crazy on me and I thought OK heck w it and could not believe the way this car can handle. Ppl actually honked and not bc they were mad. Two roundabouts w a charger and I swear I got impressed myself. I could do anything and be fine. She def got the message. Get of me lady I'm not trying to race you. So irresponsible but I finally just gave it all and omg unreal handling. I stayed inches from her side going 60 prob literally controlling her car. I've never had rear wheel drive. I am so sick of ppl here telling me how bad r engines are. Too. The guy at McDonalds commented even about my idle. Said its bc its a Mazda that's why they stopped making em. Really. I guess you got that ford focus over there. What fun to drive after work I thought. I told him they stopped making all things that are relics. So I'm sick of it but won't hear crap talk about it. I'm literally so frustrated I can't afford to keep this up. I never cry. I could cry over this car. 6 mos of wanting to drive it bit only maintaining it. Sorry I'm just at a loss!!!!! Its the best car ever!! There's so much I want to do to it cosmetically and mechanically if I could afford it. I watch my utube view deos all the time and wish my car could just drive how it was made to.
