What to buy: Twin Turbo RX7 vs RX8?

OK - so I was looking for some opinions:

If you could buy the last model year of the twin turbo RX7 for $10k or an '04 perfect condition RX8 for $15k - which one would you buy?

Assume that both cars are in perfect stock conditions.

Find me an '02 7 in that condition and for that price and I'll buy it.

Buy the 8 and then a turbo kit. You will be much happier.

If i could get a perfect stock 7 at that price I would go with that...

A couple of recent threads asking pretty much the same question might help you too.

Will these be your daily driver? If not go with the 3rd gen - I've had both - RX8 is more comfortable but the FD is a serious serious sports car.

I know - but that Montero is so freeking handy for so many things!

i have room for one of the two RX's but not both and give up the utilitarian aspect of the Monty.

Thanks for the thread!

7 responds amazingly well to mods, the 8 doesn't
7 is faster
7 is a true coupe sports care
7 is 13-15 years old
7 has strong group of followers/reputation (for speed)
8 gets better mileage (that felt weird saying)
8 has back seats
8 is more reliable (generally)
8 is much newer
8 is more daily drivable

Which fits your needs? Daily Driven I say the 8, if you want the better sports car I'd really suggest 7 + early 90's honda daily driver...

Oh, pretty sure won't be able to get a perfect 7 for $10k, if you went that way you'd be dropping around $16/18k for a stock manny good condition 7 (+ $$ for upkeep).

I think he thinks the last model year is a '95.

If money/upkeep/potential maintenance issues are not a concern, I'd go with a 3rd gen RX7.

95 is relevant to US as last model, I'm sure he's aware they went until 02...

Seems like you haven't done much research, therefore RX8 gets my vote for worry free dependence.

RX7 in a heart beat~....... but if your looking for a more practical ride, rx8 is never a wrong choice.
