Should I feel bad?

Well although it has sparked much debate I am still trying to sell the 8. Just got a call from a young guy who said he is really interested in my car because he is looking for something that is good on gas. He's coming to look at it on Sunday.

Haha, I hope after he gets through with his first tank of gas he realized that the BigMike store has a no refund policy.

He should have researched it first, it''s not that hard to find info on gas milage.

Well depending on what he drives now, and how he drives the 8, he might not even notice the difference, and trust me, the Gas Mileage is not what attracted him to the 8.

He could be switching over from a Hummer H1 to a RX8.

only feel bad if you told him an exaggerated number. ie; Yeah man, this thing gets like 35 mpg!!

If you said something like, "Pretty good for a sports car", then you're alright.

I would consider the 8 good on gas compared to all of my previous cars (12mpg or less). Like it was said, it depends on what vehicles he's coming from.

I told him I usually get like 21. And that's true. Usually actually being when I am driving 100% highway at precisely 65 mph.

Sucks that your selling it. You've been up and down the past few weeks. What will you get in it's replacement?

He obviously is not educated fully on the 8. He will be on here in a couple of weeks starting threads on how he hates the car and what a POS it is. But hope not. Any who, not your problem. Sell him the car, tell him to check the oil often and to have a nice day.

PS, I average between 20 and 22 mpg in mixed driving with some rush hour jams thrown in most days.

Thinking the Mazdaspeed 3. Something with performance, yet will be reliable and have more room with a warranty. It'll be nice not to have to worry about too much maintenance in the next few years.

My fiance loves the MS3 so if I don't like, I will pass it on to her when we get married and start shopping for someone else. I could always come back to the RX8 then.

Getting married, buying a grocery getter (athough a pretty cool one), giving her the car. Man. Run. Run like the wind.

The new STI is a hatch. Would you consider that a grocery getter? Or does the STI's 30 extra hp exclude it?

More room is as much for me as for her. Sure it doesn't have the looks of the 8, but as a daily driver it seems like it would be just as fun as the 8. (Before I get chastized, I emphasize that I am referring to the fun of a daily driver, not a track car) And the deal is, if I like it, I keep it. If I don't like it, I give it to her because she likes it. I don't think that's a bad deal for me at all. Anyway, lets stick to the topic, there are already multiple threads criticizing me for my decision anyhow.

Just got an email from the dude, he is coming from a Nissan Fronteir. Though he didnt tell me what year. So he will be improving his MPG a little bit, but not all that much. Maybe going from 16 MPG combined to 19? Oh well. Hopefully he won't do his research!

Just teasing you. I am married. My friends accuse me of being whipped. BUT, I don't have to hear nagging when I get home and she lets me have my toys. At least you are marrying a woman that is into cars. Mine could care less as long as I keep her in the one she wants.

I am not trying to give you a hard time about selling the 8. You have to do what is right for you. As I said, the Speed3 is a pretty cool car. I drove one about a month ago and really liked it.

Didn't mean for it to come across as bashing on you. Only as a joke.

Congrats on the pending nuptials.

Edit: Yes on the STI. Just a realy fast one though. And our 8 could be considered one also with it's 4 doors, back seat, and somewhat usefull trunk.

Yeah the MS3 can look pretty sweet with just tint and lowered an inch or so, not to mention a warrantied turbo, so, good choice. The MS3 is best lookin hatch out there.

I'm not kidding myself by saying the MS3 is a pure sports car like the 8. However it is a daily driver with great power, good handling, and better MPG as a bonus.
