Warranty Copy
Hello all,
I am just trying to do my homework regarding the warranty on the 8. If anyone has a copy they could upload, it would be appreciated.
The Mazdausa.com website lacks any detailed warranty or even extended warranty information, of if it has it its burried somewhere. I looked at the downloadable manual and the quick tips, but there is nothing in detail and the manual refers to "the specific warranty information provided with your Mazda" (Pg 9-8).
Thanks for your help.

Careful, I bite!
You could always ask a dealership to confirm, but according to the Mazda USA website it's 4 years, 50k miles. They also provide roadside assistance.
That's also the same as listed on the large, bright blue hanger that was on my 8 when I bought it.

I went looking for my warranty and was really surprised how small it is... it is the same for the 2004 MPV, MX-5 and Miata. The whole thing is about 40 pages in a separate pamphlet. It is part No. C442-UM-03G. I think I'd ask the dealer for a copy before buying the car if I had it to do over, although I can't say there is much here that would have changed my mind either for or against buying the RX-8.
I've attached a photo of the summary page... hope it helps. Note the "service adjustment" period. I really wonder what that covers in the real world. The warranty defines it as "minor repairs not usually associated with the replacement of parts, such as wheel balance and alignment, tension adjustment of automatic transmission throttle cables and V-belt, fitting of engine hood, trunk lid, or rear hatch, etc." I was afraid Mazda was going to throw "deflooding" into this category, but they've assured me that deflooding is covered under the basic warranty.
By the way, "Perforation" means holes in the body sheet metal panels of the car. Corrosion that does not result in a hole in a sheet metal panel is covered under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. I don't really understand the difference between perforation and non-perforation coverage.
The air conditioner coolant is only warranted for one year.

Most interesting to me is the way they show "replacement parts & accessories".
The picture seems to lend itself that it could be a 12 months/12k miles extension for that piece from the end of the warranty, but the text indicates that it is only from installation date.
Does that mean that if I have a faulty clutch in my first month and have it replaced (as one or two people on this board have) that the replacement clutch has a significantly shorter warranty than the rest of the car?
MEGAREDS, do you have the specific text wrt replacement parts?
