In some ways it actually is .The Interior of the R3 Kicks the Caymans Booty all over the place between seats and instrument cluster and ergonomics the R3 looks a lot nicer .You do have some back seats in a RX-8 as well and the suiside doors are cool. Now the exterior I have to give to my cayman especially with the paint trim mods I have done and my wheels .My 2.7 cayman has been tweeked to almost 300HP .You canhear a video of it here http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=yFPEJUM77bY

Porsches aren't what they used to be. Check out the following story:

http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/wil...gine-failures/

Cayman engines are exactly the same as Boxster engines.

Great, just great. I wait over half my life to buy a Porsche and now they suck. Guess I'll just buy some new wheels in the Spring and [continue to] be happy with what I've got.

That is a very Vague article that has no merit. The first couple years of the Boxster is what this article pertains to .Porsche no longer uses those motors .If you want a safe bet on a Boxster/Cayman Purchase for Boxster avoid the first 2 years and preferably go 2005 and Up ,Cayman 2007 and Up .Mine is a 2007 and is Rock solid ,trust me .Porsche does not win the Highest In Quality award over every other manufacturer in the world year after year by not building the BEST car Period ,Huey52 keep your dream alive there really is nothing like owning a Porsche .There is STILL IS "NO SUBSTITUTE"

Actually, unfortunately, all water-cooled Porsche motors (986 and 987 Boxsters, and 996 and 997 911's) have the Intermediate Main Shaft (IMS) the article refers to, which can fail catastrophically.... (I too had a 2006 Boxster and sold it for that reason, didn't want a ticking time bomb...). The 2009 911 engine is redesigned without the same type of IMS, which presumably will make its way into the Boxster at some point. But not yet...

I dont know if I am addicted to People asking me and staring at my car but reading what ShinkaTeen posted can you all understand? am I really that Smug guy .I use to hate people like that and the thought of being one of them makes me ILL. I must have not got enough attention as a child ....Saw a Red R3 at a dealer last weekend and it looked like a mni ferarri!!! no joke the car looked fantastic .I am now oficially confused.Help me Mr Wizard!!!!!!!!!
