Sticky Key?

First I'm a newb and I know.

I just got a new 8, and love it.
8 out fo 10 times my car starts just fine. However, sometimes I stick my key in and it won't turn. It's like the keylock is stuck. If I try real hard I can get it to turn, but it feels like I'm about to break to key to get it to turn.

Is something wrong? Is it me? (I hope so)
I searched these forums and my manual but nothing says "in case key won't turn, do this and this, don't force it"

Is this your first car? That happens with pretty much every car with steering lock.

Sorry, I'll try that.
I -did- say I was a newb, right?

None of my previous 4 vehicles have done this, my last was a brand new (at the time) 2003 Hyundai Tiburon. It said it had steer lock, but never locked the ignition switch up like this 8 does.

Oh well, I'm learning, only had my 8 for 1 day...so...

Maybe the key is not cut just right and hangs a bit? If jiggling the wheel helps, then it's probably just the steering wheel / ignition lockout. May smooth out a bit after some use.

Welcome to the board!

The 8's lock seems to pick up with less of a turn than in any of the other cars that I've driven. It's a wee bit toit.

Exactly, My other cars, to enguage the wheel lock you had to actually turn the wheel to lock it (which I never really did), but this 8 I sometimes don't even have to turn it at all for it to lock. Which is what confused me.

Thanks for all the help though, that was indeed the issue.
