almost 2 years of owning my 8,
2 tickets. one was 47mph in a 25, the other was 65mph in a 40. I have been let off the hook at least three other times so I feel pretty lucky.

I still have a lead foot, hard to resist it

 

23 years old, short hair, Grey car, I don't really speed much...just a bit here and there. Not even pulled over yet *knocks on wood* I got pulled over all the time in my 1988 RX-7...

 

At what point does you not putting your front plate on and having illegal tint make the cops ********? They're just doing their job.

Heres another thing I do that keeps me from getting pulled over. I have my front plate on, I don't have illegal tint, and my exhaust doesn't smell like **** from running without a cat.

I'm 24. I got pulled over once for speeding. I was doing 62 in a 40. Let me off with a warning for speeding, but cited me for no front plate. I get followed by cops a lot in my car, but usually once they realize I'm a girl they leave me alone.

 

I've had only one speeding ticket, and that was in my old F150 V6 and it was due to one of those police favorite "speed traps" I was cited for doing 50 in a 45 but ended up taking the free ride out by going to a $25 defensive driving class for a day and having the ticket taken off my record.


I have had my RX8 for 10 months now and was only pulled over once by a cop as he mistook my car for another that was involved in a break in just down the road (I was coming back from my lunch break at 2am in the morning, the cops are a bit tense at night) His excuse for pulling me over was that I was doing 45 in a 30, but as soon as he saw that I was not the guy he was looking for, he got back in his cruiser and took off in a blaze of glory.


Since I work at night, I have IH 10 pretty much all to myself. I have found myself pushing triple digits a few times. But with a 10 mile stretch of perfectly straight highway with no other cars or police around, it is very easy to "push the limits", sometimes without even realising it. Of course, there is a reason for IH 10 having one of the fastest average traffic speeds in the US. (Last I read, the average speed was over 80mph)

 

1 speeding ticket...........cop caught me daily redlining it.

 

4yrs no tickets

 

3 years

2 weeks after getting car : 77 in a 55~ reduced to 65 in a 55 (60 dollar ticket)

1 month ago (on the way from California to Chicago 89 in a 75 (no reduction~ 140 dollar ticket)

2 days later~ tint ticket

1 day after that ~ ticket for no front plate

30yo male (god, I can't believe I just turned 30). Short hair. Titanium '04 owned since 7/17/03.

• 1 no plate ticket (had the dealership paper on waiting for my personalized plates to show up)
• 1 speeding ticket
• 1 exhibition of speed ticket
  This one was silly. It was 1am, roads were empty, I gunned it up an onramp and didn't see a puddle that had formed from the sprinklers next to the freeway. I hit it and hydroplaned for a short time, but regained control and punched the accelerator again which caused me to fishtail for 20 or 30 yards. Cop was on the freeway. Within 3 mins I have 3 CHP cars and 2 sergeant cars stopped behind me. They wrote me a ticket, but the cop that pulled me over never showed to court

 

...and if you moved from a state where the tint was legal, you're going to remove it simply because CA has the most **** retentive auto laws in the US? I think not. Let's not forget about the law forbidding no items on the windshield like.....radar detectors.

2 years old, a total of three tickets: two no license plate tickets, and one crossing over the double yellow line ticket.

 

18 years old. I have been pulled over 4 times in my neighborhood... all within 2 weeks. I have never received a ticket but all but one have commented comment on the car which really pisses me off.
"Whose car is this?"
"Look what he is driving, go to his house"
They think rich daddy bought me the car. I THINK NOT!
I have been followed 2 or 3 times also.

I've seen multiple cops say the only reason they will actually pull someone over for window tint is to take a quick look for controlled substances.

You can see a trend in this thread though...it's generally only people going ridiculously fast that are being ticketed. My old truck was geared so that I always went at least 42mph in 35mph zones so I could be in 4th gear without lugging...I've never been pulled over for speeding.

I have, on the other hand, watched a Lightning Yellow RX8 in my town get pulled over. I followed it one day since - that guy drives far above the speed limit!
