Anyways.. Yes, it's sad to see the RX-8 go... Kinda sucks, I just bought mine a few months ago, and now they're being discontinued. Oh well.. Hopefully Mazda figures something out and continues with the 16X project. Time will tell.
Not sure about Mitsubishi. I saw an article on my CarBuzz iPhone app a few months ago about Mitsu wanting to change their whole lineup, but who knows with so many rumors spreading around.

2013 Evo would solve the issue of becoming relatively irrelevant in this Eco-save the baby seals-world.
Evolution is going Hybrid? Honestly though, it seems like Mit is just taking a giant sh** on the Evo name. Lancer Evolution stood for power, speed, racing - Ralliart. All the while to get a large audience. But to keep a car alive, i guess manufacturers need to appeal to the daily driver.
I'm sure most of the people that buy cars these days came to the realization that sticking the word "Hybrid" or "Green" to a car doesn't automaticly grant it Prius MPG. But then again, I'm assuming car buyers look at more than 1 car when buying a car. I know that's not the case

They have totally dropped all concern for motorsports, performance cars, and the Japanese CEO is such a hippy granola piece of garbage he is trying to drive the entire Mitsu lineup to battery powered electric vehicles. Even the Evo X is too fat, heavy, and compromised trying to appeal to the European market and meet required emissions. I'm so glad I have my baby, because the cost of unmolested Evo VIII/IXs is going up.All of the car companies are on this green kick, but its especially bad with Japanese manufacturers. The cost of car ownership in Japan, especially based off displacement and fuel economy is insane driving the few people still interested in cars to "eco tuning" trying to make a CRV or Insight cool. It makes me sick.

Yeah mine was CPO, which helped, but it was unbelievable how often I had it in the shop. The ignition coils failed one at a time, and the dealer refused to replace them all at once, so I had it in at least three times just for that. They later had a recall for them. Then there was a horrible oil consumption issue that the dealer never tracked down. I had to keep 4-5 quarts in the car when I'd go on road trips. On the plus side, fantastic interior, great V8 noise, sleeper factor.

And 'enthusiast' have the cheek to call my car ugly!!...
So many want Mazda to go back to the RX-7 FD look...
That will NEVER happen, the FD could not be made or sold today as it fails to comply with every collision regulation, plus many other regs...
