How about wiring it to sound the horn? Let everyone know you're redlining.

I got my first shift beep at lunch today - came out of a turn in 2nd and had a truck that wouldn't move. Changed lanes, gunned it, and BEEEEEEEEP... pretty instant guide to shift. Instantly smiled thereafter...

The sound system control cycles through a menu if you keep hitting the same control that gave you the autoPLT. You set each option by turning the same control left or right. BTW, audioPLT is kinda useless unless you like your volume under 8.
That said it will not change the shift beep, only the sound system beep. I disabled the sound system beep and the rev beep is still loud and clear. If your rev beep is not working see your dealer for repair.

can we hook up a separate one that plays the "rocky theme" at redline?

God I love that beep. I hit it alot of times just to hear it.

We need to start a thread, "Where were you when you first heard the BEEP"

if you don't beep it every once in a while your not enjoying your 8.i see my 8 as need to be driven with a firm foot in the pants and a good eye on the road the rest....priceless!!! the first time i heard that beep was when a ricer tried to cut me off and failed.just walked away with that big ole smile of comfort!

I hit it in first and second last night, and it had been a while since the last time. The moment I heard the beep it honestly made me happier, and I specifically thought about it afterwards. Great time to revive this thread!

I'm still breaking in my car and have finally gotten to the point of redlining it, I think twice now. Excellent!

I find the beep annoying, but you know, one of those things. I don't think it beeps at redline, though. It seemed to me to beep around 8500, warning you that

a) you are approaching redline
b) shift here because you are running out of both torque and HP - the dyno curves I've seen show a pretty steep drop off in power at around this area, but I haven't exactly done a search =)

My first time hearing the beep was at a stoplight where the right lane ended shortly after the intersection. A mustang pulled next to me in the right lane. He tried to accelerate faster than me to get over in frount of me. He ended up pulling in behind me.

the beep is there because... if you don't have any aftermarket mods to make your car louder, you would never realize you're revving high.

no annoying. haha

Love the beep. Very useful on challenging roads.

I'd like a head-up display of the tach even more.
