The Camaro was my first car. It a weird twist in life, I got it back for $200. Debating on what to do with it. Listen, I have buddies with muscle cars. '72 Chevelle, 71 Nova, 68 Mustang. I run with them even with my RX8. My car is more reliable, better handling, better comfort factor. And girls seem to like mine because my paint isn't primered. Each side as their strengths.
If you're ashamed of your car while around domestic cars, then you obviously don't take pride in what you have, what you spent, and won't get back in return, money wise. But you have a car that is different from all other cars. It isn't a cookie cutter 2-door, 4 cylinder. You own sports car. You own a Mazda RX8, 4-door. You own a 1.3L Rotary Engine that is incased in a vehicle with 50/50 weight distribution and handles like a DREAM

Hi All, Has anybody else had problems with the paint work? I have a 2003 RX8 Sunlight Silver and it seems like they ran out of paint when it was being made!! Interested to see if anyone has had similar issues with paint chips and scratches that appear regularly - like, there is no real 'depth' of paint on the car

My gosh...I can't believe this thread is still alive and well!!! Well...from my part, I parted ways with my 8 some 14 months ago. Some lucky fella must be driving it around the DFW area.
For the time being, I'll stay in the sideline waiting for consumer ready rotary developments. I miss it big time, but hey...14-month old little red convertible has kept me happy so far...hopefuly the enchantment will stay fresh for a few more years!

^ from one mazda to another, they sure know how to make great handling cars!!
I enjoy my new used 8 very much, even though it needed mounts and a tail light at 15K, but its been fun so far!!

I am happy with my 8 so far. I just had my oil change from the dealer. It had an creamy substance in the newly changed oil. Has this happened to anyone yet? or is it a new type of Lube/Oil.

I just got my rx-8 like this last weekend, and so far I love the damn thing. I actually bought a salvaged title one, but all that happened was a side swipe, there was no dmg to the frame or anything. The guy replaced the door and the side airbag has gone out and has not been replaced but meh. Only ones that matter are the front ones. All in all I ended up paying 11500 for it(8500 because he took my old 626 off my hands so knocked two birds with one stone), and it only has 15k miles. Has the sport package I think, leather seats, bose sound, and it is a manual. I actually got challenged by some guy in an M3 today and well he burned me because I am new to driving a stick, but not badly or anything. He actually swerved into my lane and was fishtailing lol. Was pretty funny to watch. I on the other hand turned quite easily going 80 around a turn. Then we got down to a straight lane and I actually burned him with a nice downshift, he was obviously automatic the *****. All in all I love this car, except for the gas milage, god its pretty bad. But I will endure it for a car that looks so damn cool and drives amazingly. This is my first car that I am actually paying for so I am quite pleased with what I got for the price!! All my friends are jealous, and I hope to get some *** in this car haha.

I am highly satisfied w/my new 8. I agree I wish the MPG was a li lbetter but I justify it by simply saying well i mostly only drive it on the weekend so i shell out a lil more for gas ok but I have something more fun, more appealing and more luxorious compared the to TC I traded in.
If i decided to really go out more often I jsut gotta make sure to have more $ spare for gas thats all. But I am thrilled w/my first MT rotary sports car....
Now w/the sale of the 8 I was highly satisfied as well w/the exception of one factor....they lost the spare key to open the door. I have a 2008 so it is push start the key is merely to open the door in the event the battery dies. So they lost my spare key and I have to make time to go to the dealer so they can cut me a new key....annoying but that may be the extent of my dissatified feeling.

I'll start of by saying this car is such a pice of ****
I have a 2004 mazdaspeed RX8
my grandpa can get his ***** hard faster than this thing's quarter mile
The cup holders are such ****
the windshield wipers streak like all hell
i couldn't fit wee-man in the back seat
my speackers crackle
Id rather be driving a minivan
so,no, i am not satisfied
Mod edit - pretty brave to register a brand new name for that feeble effort at trolling.
I have your i.p., so I know your other identity - the one you use when you're sucking up around here.
I'm watching you......

I'm going to say that your '2004 mazdaspeed RX8' is bullshit. Because you can find out all of that stuff on the test drive. And it does have a slow quarter mile. But it's meant for a track, you uni-directional hymen.

I am a new owner of a 2007 RX8 Grand Touring edition. I purchased it with 4700 miles on it 1 week ago. I like the styling inside and out very much, it handles great and overall performance wise like it very much. I only have (2) complaints: 1st my car is black and the paint seems to chip very easily, I have a Bra on order but in the meantime the paint chipping is adding up a bit. 2nd is the horrendous gas milage, I drive mostly highway and have filled the tank up (3) times (when it was half empty) and the 1st (2) times averaged slightly over 18 MPG, after talking to an auto mechanic at the dealership regarding recommended average RPM to prevent carbon build up he told me to drive it like I stole it, I did and I got 15. 6 MPG. I was getting 24-25 MPG year round with my Acura TL so obviously I'm a bit shocked right now but I hope the smile I have on my face while driving is enough to ease the pain at the pump. Time will tell. Any gas saving suggestions or basically "deal with it".
