I love this car and the only reason I would sell it would be due to financial issues. (and since the car is worth less then I have financed I don't see that helping any issues
)

Okay, the weather here was 0F for about a week so I drove the third stringer in the fleet (old battle-van) because I just couldn't bring myself to scour the inside of the engine by cranking it with the oil froze to jello.
Seriously, a week away from the RX-8 makes for such a fond reunion. She got two baths first thing.

I should have went with somewhat for the number of times that I have had to have it in the shop but it is to pretty and too much fun to drive. I got it the first week in Jan. of 07 and it has already been in the shop three times and is about to go back. The first time was no big deal the defrost button cracked so they replaced it that was painless. But the second time was because it would just cut off for no reason. It started just when I was in neutral sitting at a light and only once when I was driving. So I take it in the guy at the desk basically tells me that I don’t know how to drive a 6 speed and say but we will take a look at it. Since I left work just to drop it off since I work less then five min away I made him feel like an a$$ and let it go (not the norm for me but hey) they keep the car all day and when I go to get it they were like "well we couldn’t find what was making it do it, so we just did two recalls" if it does it again bring it back. Ok so I was mad but took my car back. So three days later I am doing about 85 down the highway and it just turns off luckily it was my friend behind me otherwise I could have been hit pretty hard if someone wasn’t paying attention. So drop it to 3rd pop the clutch and it starts no problem. 5 min later does it again after that time my check engine light comes one and stayed on this time. So bright and early Monday morning go back tell them the story now the guy is all like oh well it good that no one hit you and that you were able to start it up with out having to stop. Finally they figured out that the ground wires under the car were loose. Plus they replaced the starter. Now it has to go back because my window will get stuck in the up position. After the window is up you can here it still trying to roll it up so Monday it has to go back. I just hope that in 10 years doesn’t have as many problems and my fiancé’s 93 FD3S. But it’s my baby and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Here are some pictures of both my babies.

I voted somewhat satisfied as I have had some problems with the car thinking its flooded. Drained the battery quickly so it took about a week to get it going. The car is of the road for winter so it is not been to much of an inconvienance

I am Highly Satisfied with my car. I have driven many cars from Mercedes to Hondas to Mustangs. I was a very devoted Honda enthusiast before I bought my RX-8. I couldn't think of buying anything but Honda. I was thinking of buying the Civic Si or the 350Z or a Mustang, but then I stumbled upon a couple of Shinkas at a Mazda dealership that were letting them go for 10k below sticker which was 33k. I bought it last month and can't get over it. Everyone compliments it's looks and asks what is Shinka. It has very luxurious interior compared to the Mustang and the Z. The outside looks are so unique that I'm always getting looks especially in my area which is flooded with Mustangs and Z's. Oh and the rotary engine sound reminds of the turbine jets I worked on in the Air Force so it's very exhilarating. It's the greatest sports car ever!

I have worked for and owned Mazda's most of my life including my family and cars from A-Z, Mazda are a great make, particularly today.
You look after her and you will be part of the 99% of owners world wide who simply LOVE their RX-8's.
I think its worth saying that although many of us wish for an updated model...if the RX-8 WAS RELEASED FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER THIS YEAR WE WOULD ALL BE GOING WOW...WHAT A CAR ...AND IT STILL IS.

love my 8, but i am rather dissatisfied that mazda has allowed so many of their dealerships to get away with being so crappy when it comes to customer service. they definitely could learn a thing or two from lexus or bmw, who severely discipline dealerships that provide anything less than the best of customer service. imo, any dealership u set foot in should always be worry-free, courteous, and provide great service. just my own bias though.

Highly satisfied!!
80,000 miles and the only problems have been burned out coils (@70,000 miles) and a minor oil leak (@63,000 miles) both of which were fixed under warranty.

Highly satisfied w/my '06 Shinka
What's not to love really? Intoxicating sounds and interior to match.
My only complaint(s) have been already formentioned... gas mileage is a bit low in the city, but I can't help but keep my right foot from burying the accelerator, so... I guess that's a good sign of a great sports car. Can't resist the revs![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Other minor complaint is the torque and overall straight line performance. Don't get me wrong.. the handling is way more refined than the Mustang Cobra I used to drive, balance is just amazing... but I sure do miss that put-you-in-your-seat torque my old 95 5.0 used to give me (especially after I put a 9lb powerdyne on it)
I've been seriously considering a turbo since I got it, but wanted it done right. Can anyone recommend a place in Arizona State to do it? I sure do miss sub-14sec runs. Overall though, a fantastic automobile.

The only thing I hate is the door pockets in my 04. does anybody else think these are the stupidest design in the world? You put something in and you cant get it out! whateves. I'm just nit-picky.

Best driving car ever. No complaints. Can't see why some drivers say they get only 13 mpg. I've always averaged about 19 mpg or higher on the highway. Would buy another without even looking at any other cars (unless a rich uncle left me enough money to buy a 911)

Unsolicited remarks
When was the last time someone flagged an Accord or Camry down to say "nice car?"

I got my 06 Rx8 last Oct of 06, and I am still loving it; the way it handles, stylish looks from exterior and interior and finally the sound or the rotary engine on higher RPM. The amount of compliments I get from other people about how nice the car is makes me very happy. I have to say I am very satisfied about owning an Rx8, got about 7K on it and had not experienced any technical or other problems.

I'm on my 3rd RX-8 and I'm loving it. I purchased a 2004 shortly after they became available and had numerous issues common for that year. Got nervous about the car and traded it in (very much my bad). Was sick over that decision for nearly 2 years so I purchased a 2006 last year. I thoroughly enjoyed that car and miss her sorely. I was rear ended (it was silver) at about 55 miles an hour while I was dead stopped (was the 19 year old's bad this time) and now I own a 2007 Phantom Blue 8. My only complaint about the 8 is they stop so much faster than any other car on the road

I haven't bought an RX-8 yet, but I'm really leaning toward buying over the 350Z and s2000. I love the styling and the heard the handling is great, but also worry about the reliability. Did some research about how it requires more maintanence like how it uses more oil than other engines, so I am aware of that. I also heard the rotary engine can flood more frequently that piston engines. Are there ways to prevent this or other possible problems from occuring? I live in so. cal, anaheim specifically, if weather might be an issue.
Seems like most people here love their 8's and experience minimal problems. I really want the rx-8, just worried about the reliability. I'll probably get one in sept/oct., so it'll be an '08 model. I appreciate any help or input and sorry for the trouble. ^^'
