Rachael,
I know it can't be the alternator that is bad, I checked that both with a meter and with the scanguage and it was putting out the correct voltage when the car was running..........right around 14.1 volts.
It's possible that the battery that was in there just won't hold a charge and may have a dead cell after all it's been through in the last few weeks/months. The only way for us to really know is............
1.) Try to charge it on your charger and then see how long it lasts. Expect it's gonna fail again.
2.) Take a drive to Autozone and they will test it for free. Advanced may do it also for free.
I know we looked, but whether or not you put the old battery back in there after charging, or you go get that one tested, it comes up bad, and you get another....... I really want you to check that the tag light is really off.
Wait till dark and really make sure it's not one at all, not even faintly.
I also want you to pull down the trunk passthrough that is located between the two back seats, which will allow you to look into the trunk(with the trunk closed), and make sure your trunk light isn't on.
If either one of these in on, I need to know about it.....pronto.
We need to know if when you get a battery back in there and get it running, if there is still a CEL or not. Actually, I'd kind of like to stop by real quick and throw the scangauge on it to see what code it stored when you were coming back from Malabar that night. The guy at advanced auto must have had the wrong type or reader.

WTF......good luck finding that one! I'll see what if anything I can find out.
Let me know if they get a battery and you think we should go take one more quick look at it.

"OBD2 trouble code lists, P0000 is listed.
P0000
No Self Diagnostic Failure Indicated"
"Apparently when NO trouble codes are set, the pcm can/will respond with the
P0000. It should not show up in the scanner as to not confuse anyone into wondering why they are getting an error code & what does the P0000 DTC mean".
Well that certainly was not confusing at all now was it?
I'm assuming you cleared it, so we will have to see with the new battery. I find it really interesting that the CEL light came on for her, and then you read this P0000. Got me wondering if we are gonna be chasing a weird electrical or PCM problem soon?
I just found this on a FORD forum:
"normally either the ecu is dead or battery voltage is low. check both but also could be ignition coil/s or crank sensor. very confusing i know-who wants to be a mechanic. ford trouble codes are as clear as mud. check battery alternator output then coils".
Maybe it knew tha the battery wasn't taking the charge?
Maybe something with the crank sensor?
Maybe something with the PCM? That would be my biggest fear.
Most everywhere I read says this is meaningless, but it will turn on the CEL. That blows! Hopefully it's a one time thing, but I am reading some posts after searching where some cars/trucks it's an ongoing thing.
I guess we won't know until we get a new battery in there and run it for awhile? My Scanguage isn't being used on my car, so maybe I'll lend it to them for awhile?????????

You must have looked at the exact forums and info I did last night with my google search! Was all over the map on what it was. Saw it on a Ford forum(Exploders and Broncos), Prius forum, a Dodge forum, etc. etc.
I did see that several were with the Scanguage, but I also did see one or two ther code readers got it as well.

^...............very close to 10k posts!
I'm speechless......no wait, I do have something.
In his defense, the title to the thread is a little mis-leading now. Noob just read the first or first couple of posts and then responded with the "I'll buy it". As a nooblet, please read more of a thread before responding(not only in this case), or you're gonna have a Rocky road on this forum.
Rocky,
The car runs fine now, we are just waiting for her to get a new battery and see if it 100% ready to rock-n-roll.

Thank You!
Couple quick points:
It's a good thread, it might help others.
Might convince others to help out where they can.....although most of us seem to be of that nature on this forum.
We all can be smartasses(jerkoffs) from time to time.
It might not be 100% completely over.
