New Mazda 3 base price 14,500, WOOOOW $300!!! New Honda Accord 20,300... new Mazda 6 19,600. Where's the paying thousands more?? It's a fact that Honda's last longer than Mazda's. I'm glad you are proud of your brand, I am proud of them too, see I own two of them. But don't spit out dumbass figures when you clearly havn't read up on it at all.

Anyone who seriously shopped year end closeouts on Mazda knows there are large rebates on top of the year end discounts. Honda does not come close from my experience. Best value, so far,is mazda by far. Have you missed the $6g year end discounts on rx8's as posted by others on this site? Be carfull who you call dumbass , cowboy. Your the one spitting out msrp figures after it's been established by your comrads they do not apply to Mazda. Your caught in your own web. Now stay there.

Yes, you can get 6k off of a car because they weren't selling. We all know that our resales suck... can you tell me why? They discounted them too much to try to push them out because they produced way too many. They did the same exact thing with my Mazdaspeed Miata. All cars have year end discounts Fact remains, Mazda doesn't rival Honda with reliability. Just as I said in the end of my last post, take a poll, do the math. I'm caught in my own web? What does that even mean? If you're going to tell me i'm wrong then post up some proof.

like I said, so far, discounts on Mazdas are much higher than Honda. As far as your stated opinion on reliability of the two brands, that is very debatable. I'm glad you like your honda but IMO are cars of greater value for the money. You want proof goshop around. This a is not one of your statistic posting arguements. I still have my boots on. Throw some more of it like take a poll or do the math. Yeah right. Your proof is on the dealer lots.

I don't own a Honda. I said I own two Mazda's... see my sig.

Discounts don't equal quality or value. I have shopped around, it was my job to know what the competition had going so I could sell. As I have already said, I sold Honda's for over a year and cars for 3 1/2 years, I know from experience. Reliability is very debatable? Perhaps as an entire company, but 8 vs S2k there is no contest.

Most reliability problems were in the first model years of the 8. Warranty covered it all.
Hopefully Mazda has straightened out the ECU and overheating engine damage and replcement problems. They say they have. If so the renesis should be just as reliable as the non-turbo 12a rotarys of the early 80's. I've had zero problems with my early build 04. I've had all the recalls and tsbs done. It has 25k miles. Runs like a top but I don't abuse it either. I think it is a good car so far. I probably paid too much for it in 04 but they were not discounting and I had to have it. The car is a real steal in todays new car buyers market. Have fun with those mazdas.

instead of trying to ADD power to the rx8, which is expensive and useless, why not make the power it HAS more useful..? its all about weight reduction. The 8 can stand to lose a few pounds.

Take it from me I have an EVO MR and a RX8 with a turbo. In comparing the 2 the RX8 does not take well to mods. Like some of the other members have said it is a great handling car with a Turbo it is a great car however it is very expensive to tune for real horse power gains. The EVO on the other hand loves the after market stuff with simple bolt on makes a huge difference in performance. but you will have to give up luxury for the EVo it is really bare bones as far as interior and exterior is concerned.

Any tuborcharged cars are ridiculously easy to tune. I don't even bother with the rx-8 as my other car is a stage II 92x. Instead enjoying the car as is from factory. On the other hand, the rx-8 already looks good from the showroom while you can spend $$$ on the EVO and it still looks like a cereal box with wheels.

^^^ sooo true, our cars look good straight outta the factory, this is the type of car that looks sophisticated enough that you could drive around in a tuxedo and look even better, and at the same time it looks like a really fun car.... as with the evo and stis you look like a kid in a toy car

I agree having both an EVO and RX8 the EVo takes much better to mods and you can get huge power gains with a few bolts ons if performance is what you want go with the EVO just be prepared to give up some luxury

I will win this thread, I would get a ticket in no matter which car I was driving so it doesnt matter, OMG the s2000 is faster, how about we all sit down and drink some beers and just be happy we dont have mustangs, I haven't even topped out the speed on the rx8, I had it to 147 and was scared to death, and I doubt I'll suddenly be making mad money to be putting it up for a drag strip in the next 5 years seeing how im still in college. =[
