The RB 'Race' flash removes the immobilizer function for just such a use.

I have an ECU with the Race Flash already on it, which may be up for sale soon - going turbo.

is the AP also capable of doing this? If he plans on sticking with the stock PCM anyways, might as well have one...

I dont understand, why does he need to flash Rx-8's ECU when he is trying to put the 13B-MSP into his FB.

What he should do is just get an aftermarket ECU management. I think you should try Motec or F-Con V-Pro.

The RX8 has all sorts of sensors that the RX7 dosn't have and would be very difficult to install. An aftermarket ECU would be a better route rather than trying to get the OEM PCM to work correctly.

Im done with aftermarket parts. I have most of the parts already to do a transplant, Using an aftermarket ECU will be costly and re fabricating the engine like putting a new throttle body, tuning,OMP(dont want to premix)trigger and ignition is also a headache. This has been done before in japan. My goal is to have a smog legal FB with an rx8 engine not a race car, been there done that. Also I want to be able to use a factory shop manual from an rx8 and also purchase rx8 parts that will be available for a while.

Good luck with a swap like that,

If you want Stock ECU to work, you pretty much have to move EVERYTHING over, including all wires and sensors.
