RX-8 finally gone!!!!!
Wow, let me tell you. I sold my RX-8 tonight to the dealership. They gave me $11,500 for it. I owned the car for 3 months and it is by far one of the worst cars I have ever owned. I will make a list of reasons why:
1. Uses way to much oil, as well as gas.
2. I got outrun the other day by a 11 year old kid on his bicycle.
3. No matter what anyone says, the rotary engine is way to unreliable. Don't give me that its more reliabe than a piston motor crap, you know you are lying to your self if you say it is. I have read many post titles on here that say, Engine Dead at 75K or Engine dead at 65K.
4. And probably the most important. RESALE. No matter how good of deal you get on your RX-8, in the end you ARE gonna be upside down (unless you make payments of $2000 a month payments). I mean if you got a 15K mile car and put another 15k miles on it, BAM car is worth like half.
I know what you guys are gonna say. I should of done my research before owning this car. And frankly, you all are absolutely right!!! I did not do enough research to purchase this car. I know you guys are probably gonna disagree with me on this article. But I and everyone else knows that what I have stated is absolutely true.
So this is goodbye to Mazda and there $1500 catalytic converter, and there "100,000 mile warranty

Holly crap, 10 post in less than an hour. I had my car for sale on here for a week and a half and didn't have that many. I was obviously just wanting to rant because of my frustrations with the car. I didn't know that it was going to offend some of you. So my apologies on that. I am just very upset that I was forced to sell such a beautiful car for the above reasons.

Damn, my car is not giving me problems, I never even bother to check my oil, Just add 1/2 quart like every 1 K miles then I just change it every 1.5~2K. It cost me 60 to fill my rx8, 40 for my 1.5 Honda fit, yeah fit is cheaper and can go an extra 50 miles. But the Fun factor is just zero. oh wait

For me, Driving is a passion, its something that I can enjoy, Rx8 gives me that, no other car does.

Don't act shocked about the resale price if you knew the "stealership" was going to give you a lowball offer.
And if you list it here for $14,000 and drop the price to $11,500 in 8 freaking days don't complain about the resale, you just don't have the patience or means to hold out and fully test the resale waters.

details please? i hope you not exaggerating because if you ARE, then this car is obviously more then you can handle since you can't seem to operate the controls.
umm, yes your were right about us calling you out... why the F*Ck would not research a car IN DEPTH before buying.... thats probably the biggest investment you have right now(unless you have a house, or a boat.)
actually, you THINK you know. i don't know about the rest, but i certainly think its a HELL of a package.
-oh, and about the consuming oil bit you were complaining about.... a lot of high performance, high strung cars burn oil.... s2k, m3...
-the only thing i agree with you on is the gas, i mean yes its terrible.. i would think you would know that before buying the car. however, we all took that into account when buying the car. IS low gas mileage worth the: great looks, great handling, great steering response, great sound, 9.5k RPMS, great interior, a 4 door that LOOKS like a 2 door with SUICIDE doors, real back seats that can be used, decent audio, ETC... i mean nothing really compares to the rx8, its in a class of it's own and really the gas mileage isn't to bad when you consider what you get out of the box for 26k.
-oh and if you know how to take care of the engines, they usually last a decently long time.

I am not denying that I got taken for at the dealership. I DID!!! And I did not have the patience to sale, you are right about that. I just could not stand to see the 8 in my garage anymore.

Oh, and RESALE VALUE relates to the price of a car NEW versus the price it will garner when resold.
The term does not mean the inflated price you were probably suckered into paying when you bought the RX8, and the low price you hurriedly got suckered into from the stealership.

I can afford gas. I make good money, just hate to feel up a car and get nothing in return for it. The car handled exceptionally well, but that is about it.
