The point was this. You should not have to add oil to a car every 1k miles. Someone posted that a lot of high performance cars use a lot of oil. Once again, absolutely true. But this is not a high performance car, by any means. Under 200 ft lbs of torque. I dont think so.

something tells me he doesn't own animals.... im sure they EAT to much..... i mean who has the money to buy like a bag of animal food every other month? the expense can just get ridiculous...

- i could be wrong, but last time i checked a Quart of oil ranges from like 1-8$.... you could make that difference just but redlining 5 instead of 10 times a day, or dont use the ac for a day or 2.

I have a yellow lab named layla. What does that have to do with anything?

You guys tell me the truth. Besides handling and a very good looking car, what in the hell should I miss about it?

ok, how about the:

noise the engine makes at idle
9.5k rpms
the smoothness of the engine
how comfortable it is
how practical it is with having 4 REAL seats, but it has them in kind of a stealthy way, since some people dont notice it really has 4 doors

i could go on, but im tired and i should get some sleep, 13hour work day tomorrow, and worked 12 today. anyways, obviously you didn't like it and you make rash un-educated decisions, i hope your more careful, and do more research next time you buy a car. i love my 8, nothing quite like it.. thats really what you should miss, Its UNIQUENESS... i can't think of another car that has suicide doors besides the rolls royce phantom. nothing quite sounds like it... and there is no other car on the market that revs to 9k so smoothly.... and no car on the market which goes to 9.5k from the factory...

I honestly never understood this complaint. A quart of oil is like $3. So an extra $1.50 in operating expense every thousand miles. How is this even an issue? When I was looking into buying my rx8 I saw that it burned oil and made a mental note: put oil in trunk so I always have it. Net investment when I got the car was $6 and I got my oil at the grocery store so I'm sure you can get it cheaper.

On a $25,000 car how is this even a concern?!?

So all u're saying is power is everything

If your definition of *high performance car* equals to *high hp and tq*. then u should go ahead and get urself some HEMI crap, take it down to a track and see how *lower than 200 ft lbs of torque* car smoke you.

should not have to add oil to a car every 1K miles? rofl ! When did I say I have to ? Im adding it to keep the oil level at its max. I can go without adding anything until oil change. NOT to mention, you're SUPPOSE to add oil after certain miles for EVERY CAR. Yeah most people dont do it, but that does NOT mean they dont have to.

Do you even know what is VQ35DE ?

damn you failed, big time.

That warm feeling you get from being around your brothers and sisters in the RX8 family?

Now GTFO already.

you complained about the car burning oil.... its not like that car burns a quart a week.
i figured if you bitched about shelling over less then 10 bucks a month for oil.

i can just picture you bringing "layla" back to the owner of the mother lab and saying
please take her back, she eats to much... i didnt expect her to eat. i don't want her anymore, here take her.."

Ok, that was a good post. There are a few things I would disagree with you on though. 9.5k rpms is very impressive, but when you hit the gas where in the hell does the power go? I would not want to get into a argument with someone about cars and say "You know what, your car may blow the doors off my 8 but at least mine will go to 9.5k rpms".

Also, I loved the sound at first. After about a week it was like listening to a really loud sewing machine.

I actually paid $12,000 for mine.

Once again, who said resale is not a concern?

Why are you complaining if you paid $12k and sold it for $11.5k three months later? And why were you trying to sell it for $14k?

Is everyone on this forum in denial. I am not a troll. I had a RX-8. Just because I sold it means I never owned one?

Some of the people on here are very, very dumb.

u only lost 500 bucks in resell, and it's obvious u had no patience.

14k is not under "book" the book is wrong, this is a living market. according to the US Black Book, which is much more accurate, a base model rx8 04 was worth only 11kish. but kelly would put it up at 13k.
