other than the gas issue, the rx8 isnt a bad car to take for a long drive.

I say the 8. You'll be more comfortable, and a loud exhaust really gets to you during a long trip.

gas mileage isn't sooooo bad on the freeway!...I'm getting 22-24mpg on the highway but that's setting cruise at 72mph which is hard to do!

Thanks guys!! I was leaning toward the 8 in the first place, but the other half can be pretty stubborn, lol. I remember having a splitting headache because of the noise after a day's driving from the trip last year, but he swears it doesn't bother him in the slightest (yeah, right). Thanks for helping me strengthen my argument.

I'm a bit late on the call obviously, but I doubt the AWD of the WRX would really be useful. Im from WV, and while there are dirt/gravel back roads, I dont know of any that actually take you anywhere other than dead ends and trailer parks. Take the 8.

Since the WRX is modded, take the 8. The highway mileage will be similar to the WRX's anyway. And the 8 is more comfortable. Take the 8

+1 It's a car for goodness sakes, drive it! Chips will come no matter what, that should be the least of your worries.

I have some little chips, too. And one day I will have the hood/front bumper repainted, and they will all be gone.

(Well for a few hours, at least.)
