Question car remote problems? last resort

ive tried to reprogram the remotes as people say your car battery dying can cause the codes to be reset and no luck, followed the instructions on the diy https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-code-your-own-key-remote-43873/ completely and nothing... autozone's remote tester thing shows that both of mine have battery and put of a signal. mazda dealer says if reprogramming them dont work then the remotes could be bad (considering both of them are atleast putting of a signal). Anyone else have this problem or even better a solution? helpp me!

I had a similar problem. It would shoot the signal, but nothing would happen. I ended up buying a replacement remote($50). I have the switchblade kind, so the key part is separate from the remote, so I kept my key and didn't have to re-key.
