Replace stock fuel pump internals?

I'm trying to replace various parts in order to fix this mega lack of power I'm having - someone mentioned potentially the fuel pump. I'm not going to put much more than bolt-ons for the time being.

I read a thread on replacing the internal pump with a walbro unit, but wouldn't that be too much pressure for the rest of the fuel system? (I also tried searching for the thread but couldn't find it again).

A new fuel pump from the dealer here is $341, and fuel injectors are $225 each.

Ideally I'd like to call up napa or some other auto parts store and buy the pump itself to drop into my assembly. Maybe spend $100 or so. Suggestions or part numbers by chance?

Thanks.

(Also note, I've changed coils, plugs, wires, air filter, removed cat and decarbed in order to try and solve my lack of power (and sort of detonation sound))

Why don't you just let Mazda run a test on your engine?

Mazda Dealership: "you have a check engine light on, did you want us to tell you what that is"

Me: "oh sure why not, I have a code reader and know it only takes 30 seconds, thanks"

Mazda Dealership (sometime later): "great that'll be an additional $200 for reading the code, and to do the repair it'll cost you $1,200"

There is no way I'm letting the dealership touch my car again.

And after the fuel pump and possibly injectors, the only other thing I could possibly change out is what... the rotors? :p

if the fuel pump were not making sufficient pressure you would see lean afrs - is this the case ?

Why don't you read the CEL and go from there?

Randomly replacing parts is a very expensive way to repair any problem.
