Remote start on a 8
I have a 2004 auto fx and I live in mi where the weather get pretty harsh and cold. I was thinking of getting a automatic starter for the winter and summer months but I'm kinda conceded about the flooding issue in the winter, I've never flooded it yet and I take really good care of it so I'm hoping that it won't be a problem but I was wonder ur opinion on it. If it's a good idea or if they cause more problems than there worth thx

Well I've heard storyies of people not being able to start there car in the winter due to it being so cold and they keep tring and it floods and such I just worried about the starter tring to start it and it not starting and it causin issues. So maybe flooding was a wrong term to use sry

OP - on a lot of remote starts there is adjustable cranking time and a signal wire used to make sure the vehicle starts.
If your car is automatic transmission, you'll have no problem taking it to a shop. If its manual transmission you'll have to do it yourself.
If you search there is a great thread with wiring pinouts to tap into.
I too (Wisconsin here) want to throw a remote start on my car as well. I just want to find a good system and the extra cash first. LOL
If you have the updated starter, a good battery, good plugs, good coils, and a healthy engine youll have no problem cold-starting.
In fact most starting issues occur when hot.

Yeah see thing is, I rarely leave my car in gear.
In fact I remember reading something that there is a signal wire reading when the car is in gear.
Try sliding it out of gear with the cruise control on.(Don't worry you can do it without the clutch and not hurt anything) It shuts off.
Use that wire as your "safety wire" and boom. No more hurt garage doors.
