The damage from volume 20 is the same with your windows up vs down.

This includes loud music performances (regardless of musical genre), and activities such as operating power tools, driving loud vehicles, or driving with the windows down, etc.

For the rattling in the door with the windows down...try reaching out and touching the plastic on your sideview mirror to keep it from vibrating. That is what is causing the rattling in my driver's side door. Might not be the same problem for you, but worth a try.
