It doesn't matter, what you describe is just like someone who runs a lawn mower - then has to use a really loud setting on the walkman in order to hear the music. Sound at volume 20 is sound at volume 20.

The damage from volume 20 is the same with your windows up vs down.

I don't think it is. It may be, I'm no ear doctor, but I don't think you are either. I think that in order to hear the music, I have to turn the volume up when the windows are down. So, that means that I'm hearing the same thing, but my speakers are just working harder to get that same sound to my ears.

Incorrect. You can't hear it as well because you're adding additional sounds. The fact that you have to raise it to 20 means that the other sounds you're hearing is also at a high decibel.

It only took me one google search to find this:
http://www.hei.org/news/facts/nihlfact.htm

If you are in an environment where you must raise your voice to be heard, you are in a potentially hazardous environment for your hearing. This includes loud music performances (regardless of musical genre), and activities such as operating power tools, driving loud vehicles, or driving with the windows down, etc.
If you feel that you're smarter than me, feel free to continue, I don't care

Do you think it's the stock tires or because the car is close to the ground? I have an appointment with the dealership today to look at it in 2 hours but I won't wanna have them work on my car for unnecessary ****. Mechanics make me nervous
Believe it or not, you'd be surprised at how much noise the transmission and differential make. Change out the trans and diff oil with Royal Purple and enjoy the quiet and silky smooth performance. I did it for the performance; was very surprised at how much quieter it was inside the car afterwards.

For the rattling in the door with the windows down...try reaching out and touching the plastic on your sideview mirror to keep it from vibrating. That is what is causing the rattling in my driver's side door. Might not be the same problem for you, but worth a try.

Whatever you say... but there is no feeling in the world than after a long day, rolling the windows down, turning the music up and crusing in your 8 when it's 75 degrees outside. Nothing like it.
