That and the GTO are based on this. I drove one before I bought the 8. Very good car but not really a sports car. 297kw = close enough to 400hp.

Yeah, it kind seems to me like a poor man's S4 or M3 sedan. Looks good for a GM sedan, and RWD and 400HP to boot! Definately kicks the **** out of any other american sedan. So it's a Holden? How old is the chassis it sits on?

It was released last year.
The 270kw luxury version was rated a better car at any price than the BMW 550 by a local magazine although not as good as the E500 Merc.

I live in a hilly area with a lot of winding narrow roads aka RX8 country. The Holden would have been more practical albeit more expensive but not anywhere near as good a car for these conditions.
