Hi Guys,

I 'm new to these forums. I hoping to pick up a 04 RX-8 in the Uk soon and bring it back to Ireland.

Regarding recalls, i understand that there should have been at least 3 or 4 done for that particular year. I was wondering if there is any way of verifying this. For instance if the seller supplied me with the VIN number is there a site i could go to verify that all the relevant recalls and TSBs have been done. I will only be able to see the car the day i fly over to collect it.

I will be getting a full AA Vehicle Check done on whatever car i purchase, but i would like to know that the relevant recalls have been done just for piece of mind. I'd appreciate any advice you could give or if you could point me in the right direction.

(a small bump - I've seen some other Irish & UK 8 owners on here).

Here in Canada, any Mazda dealer can access the Mazda database. This shows all recalls (Completed or outstanding), as well as all warranty work paid by Mazda. I'd reckon that that the UK would have a similar system.

You should check the VIN with a dealer in the UK before you buy. If the VIN doesn't show up (ie imported to the UK from elsewhere), this might affect your purchase decision.
