The exhaust will give you minimal hp increase, think about adding a midpipe and you will get some more. The intake will do pretty much nothing for you other than look pretty and make it sound a little better. So I guess my answer is to go w/ the exhaust first if your choice is between these two mods.

It's just a large air pump. Whichever end is most restrictive, do that end first. Generally speaking, you won't get more out the back if you don't put more in the front.

both are mostly for sound. check youtube for which one you like.

Go to the aftermarket section of this forum and search! There are tons of threads about every single type of intake and exhaust for the rx8.

The data/ info is out there, find it young padawan!

But, specifically in the case of the RX8, you're not going to get more air in or out without forcing it.

yes the volumetric efficiency is 100% on a rotary(or very very close to 100) so generally speaking you would need to do intake and exhuast both at the same time to see any gain but the factory intake and factory exhaust are very very good so it only comes down to sound/looks mostly...personallly I'd do exhaust first...and like someone said earlier getting a midpipe will bring out a few more horses

simply check youtube for sound/look preference. thats the only thing a catback/intake will do. make your car sound better.

my personal favorite is the hks hi power.

If you poke around some of the rotary sites that show how the Renesis intake system works, or are fortunate enough to find the training video showing all the details, you'll come away a) really impressed, and b) doubtful that any useful power gain can be obtained without blowing.
