... which one should i buy?

so i've been saving money for the racingbeat intake these past few months and i've come to a difficult decision. due to the release of the brand new sony psp i'm having an internal conflict...

SONY PSP or Racing Beat REVi intake system ?

pros and cons? (im pretty sure some of you guys are going through the same struggle as i am?)

I have an a son your age. I would say that you will get more use and have more fun with the PSP. Unless you are going to build the car for organized racing, getting 5 hp isn't worth that kind of money.

Is the RB intake out already? If so, psp cost $240...so...is the RB intake going for $240 for 5HP? Ouch...and not a very good bang for the buck...

Go for the PSP. I have one and love it (now if only 1GB memory stick duo would be in stock). As said before, you will probably have more fun with the PSP.

Couple the price ($320.00) with the statement that the intake may only be mounted on a car intended for racing (illegal on highways) in California...it's a no brainer (at least for those of us in CA...)

Just my $0.02 worth...
:D

Get the PSP, then make a DIY post on how to integrate the psp with the nav system.

There is a really high number of reports of dead or stuck pixels on the new PSPs. So before you buy one retail find out if the store has a replacement policy - or get it someplace that is known to be generous with returns - or pony up for the extended warranty.

Sony says "all LCDs have dead and stuck pixels" but they have no official policy on it and a lot of folks are getting stuck with bad screens. GameBoy DS owners seem to be able to get theirs replaced/fixed if they have any problems.

Not to ignore the question of this post, I'd wait a bit on the PSP...becuase there have been issues reported. Give it some time and you might even save money too.

*Legal in California only for racing vehicles, which may never be used upon a highway.
For Cali people, yes...that makes this deal a bad one. Again, if all you get is 5HP for $320...that's just not worth it in MY opinion. Again I say that I really like RB and how they do things...but $320 = 5HP....sorry, I could get a flywheel for a little (well like $100-200) and make a significant difference in cutting times of the 0-60 & 1/4.

Again...just my opinion...

Thread closed as it is a 7 year bump without much of a point.

And I have no idea what makes you believe that RB stuff is only legal in CA. The post above yours says that in CA, it is only legal for offroad use, not legal for on-road use. As in, it is not CARB certified, which CA requires for road use. Other states don't have CARB certification requirements, so it is legal to use.
